I get changed and go back to the boy's room with three bottles of cold beer, I hand then one each and pop my open with my teeth. Sam is on his laptop "What you got Sammy?" I ask "There are the three drowning victims this year" Sam says "Any before that?" Dean asks "um yeah, Six more spread out over the past thirty-five years. Those bodies were never recovered either. If there is something out there, it's picking up its pace." Sam explains, I get up and walk over to him resting my hand on the back of his chair and leaning closer to look at the articles he's looking at

"So, what, we got a lake monster binge?" Dean asks "This whole lake monster theory, it, it just bugs me."  Sam says "Why?" I ask, Dean joins us "Loch Ness, uh, Lake Champlain, there are literally hundreds of eyewitness accounts, but here, almost nothing. Whatever is out there, no one's living to talk about it" Sam continues, he starts scrolling through the comments on the article "Wait, Barr, Christopher Barr. Where have I heard that name before?" Dean speaks up "Christopher Barr, the victim in May" Sam says while clicking on the link, the picture loads showing a little boy next to a police officer

"Oh. Christopher Barr was Andrea's husband, Lucas' father. Apparently, he took Lucas out swimming. Lucas was on a floating wooden platform when Chris drowned. Two hours before the kid got rescued." Sam reads before itching his head "Maybe we have an eye witness after all" Sam says "No wonder that kid was so freaked out. Watching one of your parents die isn't something you just get over." Dean says "tell me about it" I whisper, they glance over at me "Let's go talk to the kid" I say

We drive around until we find the park, Lucas I'm guessing is sitting down on his own leaning and drawing on a bench with his toy army men, we walk over to his mother, Andrea, "Can we join you?" Sam speaks up, the woman looks at the boys then at me "Hi, I'm Regina" I say putting my hand out, why did she have to be so pretty, makes not caring so much harder, she gives me a small shake "I'm here with my son" She says mostly to Dean "Oh. Mind if I say hi?" Dean asks and walks over that "Tell your friend this whole Jerry Maguire thing is not gonna work on me." Andrea says "That's not really what this is about" I say, is it?

I just watch Dean with Lucas, I know I could listen in but I tune into the sound of the children playing instead and just admire them. Why is that man so hot? And why does he have this much power over me? I need to just focus on the case, this situation is making me seriously unhinged "Lucas hasn't said a word, not even to me. Not since his dad's accident" Andrea says as Dean approaches us "Yeah we heard, sorry" Dean replies "what are the doctors saying?" Sam asks "That it's a kind of post-traumatic stress" Andrea replies "That can't be easy for either of you" Sam says, I stay quiet, letting them talk "We moved in with my dad. He helps out a lot. It's just...when I think about what Lucas went through, what he saw..." She starts to say but pauses

"Kids are strong. You'd be surprised what they can deal with" Dean says "You know, he used to have such life. He was hard to keep up with, to tell you the truth. Now he just sits there. Drawing those pictures, playing with those army men. I just wish—" She starts speaking up again when the little boy approaches us "Hey Sweetie" his mum says bending over slightly, Lucas hands something to Dean, a picture he drew of a house before going back to the bench. We all exchange a look "Thank you" I say to Andrea and lead the way back to the motel

the boys follow shortly after "I'll go get us some food, meet you back at the motel?" Sam says "I'll come with" I say, Dean shrugs and continues walking while we get in the car "so, what's with the alcoholism Reg?" Sam asks, I frown "Taking the edge off" I say "Off of what?" He asks "I haven't seen you drink this much since-" He begins says, I purse my lips together "Since?" I ask "Since you trying to get over Grayson" He says "And?" I ask "Is there something going on again? With you and Dean because you promised-" Sam begins saying "There is nothing going in Sam, I know what I promised you and I am keeping that promise. I really cannot explain, I feel overloaded with senses and hormones lately" I say

"Have you ever gone this long without sex?" Sam asks, I stay quiet trying to think. We've been on the road for weeks now, I don't even know when he last time was. I gasp "No, I don't even remember the last time" I say "You're an addict you know that right?" Sam says, I give him an offended look "Am not" I fight back "You totally are" Sam laughs "That's not a bad thing" I say "It is when you have to drink to get rid of that feeling, does it even work?" Sam asks "No, it makes it worse. but it helps for a few minutes I guess" I say with a shrug

We get our food and drive back "Look" I say pointing at a house with an ambulance parked in front "That's the Carlton House" Sam says, he turns around and parks in front of the house. He goes over to the commotion to ask questions before coming back to the car "So?" I ask "Will Carlton is dead" Sam says "Another drowning?" I ask, he nods "We have to go to Dean" I say, Sam agrees and drives back to the hotel. Dean is sitting on his bed in silence, I know damn well he just turned that TV off "So, I think it's safe to say we can rule out Nessie." Sam says, I sit on one of the chairs

"What do you mean?" Dean asks "We just drove past the Carlton house, there was an ambulance there. Will Carlton is dead" Sam says "He drowned?" Dean asks "Yup, in the sink" I reply, Dean is frowning clearly confused "What the hell? So you're right, this isn't a creature. We're dealing with something else." Dean says to Sam "Yeah, but what?" Sam asks "I don't know. Water wraith, maybe? Some kind of demon? I mean, something that controls water...water that comes from the same source." Dean says "The lake" Sam replies "yeah" We say "Which would explain why it's upping the body count. The lake is draining. It'll be dry in a few months. Whatever this thing is, whatever it wants, it's running out of time." Sam says

"And if it can get through the pipes" I begin saying "it can get to anyone, almost anywhere." Dean finishes my sentence before standing up "this is gonna happen again soon" Dean says, he sits down on the chair opposite from mine "And we do know one other thing for sure. We know this has got something to do with Bill Carlton." Sam says "Yeah, it took both his kids" Dean says "And I've been asking around. Lucas's dad, Chris—Bill Carlton's godson" Sam adds

"Let's go pay Mr Carlton a visit" Dean replies
