I stood outside the antique market, seeking shelter under the awning from the pouring rain. This wasn't the nice warm summer rain, oh no, this was the really cold type of rain that coupled with the wind to get you no matter where you stood. I looked down at my phone again to see if Andy had said anything. He had texted saying he was a few minutes away fifteen minutes ago. I kept looking around for him as I awkwardly stood against the wall. Finally, I saw him walking towards me with an umbrella in hand. When he reached the awning, he closed his umbrella and approached me with a sheepish look on his face. "Sorry I'm a little late. I got lost in Target for twenty minutes looking for an umbrella." I laughed as I asked "You didn't have an umbrella?" He shook his head and I sighed before he opened the door for me and we entered the antique mall.

It seemed kind of surreal to be walking with Andy right now because we had only been talking for a few weeks and I only gave him my phone number a few days ago. But he had asked to hang out last night, and I said yes.

As we walked, Andy and I talked about random things and shared stories. For some reason he seemed to be brandishing his umbrella like a sword and would intermittently wave it around him randomly. We found a stand that had funny signs on it, like "It's All Shits and Giggles Until Someone Giggles and Shits." We both laughed at it and Andy brought it with him. Then we found a stand with a bunch of earrings. I held up a pair of dangly earrings that had little trolls attached to them and asked "Would you wear these?" Andy gave me an "are you serious" look and I couldn't help but laugh. I spent the next ten minutes holding up random earrings and asking him if he would wear them. All of them he said no to, each more dramatic than the last. At one point I held up a pair that were a giant pair of rainbows in bright colors and he covered his eyes and said "It's too ugly for me to even look at." I laughed so loud I accidentally scared the old lady two stands down.

We spent two hours in the antique mall, roaminy around and cracking dark jokes. When we were ready to go, I waited outside for Andy to pay for his stuff. He came out a few minutes later with his stuff in a paper bag hanging from the handle of his umbrella. "What do you want to do now Y/n?" "How about we walk downtown?""Sounds good to me." He opened his umbrella and held it over the both of us as we began our walk downtown. The shelter from the umbrella lasted for all of five seconds before the cold wind blew the rain against us. The sidewalks were like rivers and my feet were wet in a matter of minutes. Every time I tried to avoid the really big puddles, Andy made sure the umbrella stayed over me. He would gently guide me to the other side of the sidewalk, putting himself between me and the busy road.

But there was something so exhilirating about being in the rain. We were both laughing and sometimes shouting to be heard over the noise of the passing cars and the rain. We made it to the other side of downtown, where we ducked into an ice cream parlor, which no surprise had no people. "Do you want something?" Andy asked. I looked at him a moment, into his beautiful eyes, before I nodded and grinned. I got my favorite flavor of ice cream and Andy got a monster and then paid for everything. We ate quickly, and as we ate, I noticed all the little details about him. There were little droplets of water in his dark hair and his shirt and pants were practically soaked through. But there was a certain excited twinkle in his eye that I couldn't help but smile at.

When we left the ice cream parlor, Andy's paper bag looked like it was going to break any second now because of how wet it was. As we approached a low-hanging sign, I pulled the umbrella lower to make sure it didn't hit the sign. What I didn't expect was for Andy to duck and I backed up, consequently getting in the face by the edge of the umbrella. I started laughing as he kept saying "I'm sorry" over and over again. "It's okay, I swear, I was just not expecting you to move like that." He laughed and we continued on. We crossed the train tracks that divided us from the antique mall, and of course my dumbass self somehow missed the huge height difference between the paving and the tracks and my foot slipped. My hand went out and grabbed Andy, who hurriedly grabbed me. I managed out an apology through my laughter and Andy just laughed along with me.

I noticed how red Andy's hands were. I told him we could stop by his car to get his jacket before we left, but he insisted he was fine. Dude was in a short-sleeve t-shirt. "I told you we could've gotten your jacket. You look really cold." He chuckled and said "I'm fine, I've been in worse.""How?""I've been in snow half-naked." I stopped to look at him for a second before I asked "What do you mean by half-naked?" "I was in my boxers." I started laughing so hard I had to stop walking for a second. "Why would you do that?" He shrugged and I laughed again with Andy looking amused and proud of himself.

When we reached my car, I turned to say goodbye, but Andy stopped me by saying "I got this for you." He thrust a little baggie into my hands and inside were a pair of treble cleff earrings that we had seen at the earring stand. "Aww, they're beautiful! You didn't have to do that.""I know, but I wanted to.""Well thank you, I really appreciate it.""I grabbed them when you weren't looking." I laughed and hugged him for a moment before I said goodbye and got in my car. I watched him go to his own car, and as I left the antique mall, I couldn't help but smile like a maniac.
