I hurried through the halls to my first block class, avoiding the groups of people who randomly just decide to stand in the middle of the hallway. When I got to my class, I unceremoniously dumped my backpack next to my seat and texted Ricky that I was here. I exited the room just as Ricky exited the classroom next door. His eyes met mine and a smile made its way onto his face. "Good morning," he greeted me, his voice still raspy from sleep. I smiled back and said "Goodmorning." We wandered aimlessly through the school since that's what we did before the day began and it was one of my favorite parts of the day. I think all the times I get to see Ricky during the day are my favorite parts. Ever since we started dating, and even before then, Ricky liked to walk me everywhere, and I did not mind one bit.

As we walked and talked, I felt his eyes continuously on me. They always seemed gentler when he looked at me. Eventually the one minute warning bell rang and we separated off to go to our respective classes. It was in the middle of first block that I felt a little off. I simply ignored it and pushed through the large amount of work my teacher had given us. By second block, I could feel it a bit more, and by third block I was not looking too good. When the bell rang for lunch, I went straight to the bathroom because the mere idea of food made me feel nauseous. I texted Ricky saying that I wouldn't be in the cafeteria because I needed a little time to rest, and he texted back a moment later that he would see me in fourth block. I sat in that damn bathroom stall the entire lunch period, trying to see if wishing myself to feel better would actually work. It didn't.

When lunch ended, I went back to my third block class to get my backpack before making my way to fourth block. I felt very unsteady, nauseous, and cold. And now I had to climb the steep steps up to the third floor that like to show which kids are out of shape. I made it into the classroom and to my desk before I rested my head on the table. I sat in the far corner, next to Ricky, who didn't usually show up for another minute or two. "Y/n, are you okay?" I heard my teacher ask. I nodded my head but felt too tired to lift it. "I'm fine, I'm just feeling a little off.""Okay, well you just rest, and if you start feeling worse you can go see the nurse." I heard her walk away and then a second later heard the chair next to mine be pulled out. Then I felt a gentle hand on my back and Ricky asked "Y/n, what's the matter?"

I turned my head slightly to look at Ricky's concerned face and said "I really don't feel good. I feel like I'm going to throw up, either from nausea or from violently shaking, I haven't decided yet." Ricky gave me a sympathetic look before he shrugged off his jacket and placed it on top of me, making sure it was secure around me. He took one of my hands in his and began to rub shapes into the back of my hand with his thumb. That's how we stayed for the rest of class. I fell asleep at some point and Ricky kept holding my hand and moving his thumb along my skin. It was an intoxicating feeling. When it was time to go, Ricky kept my hand in his and we walked slowly towards the buses with Ricky giving me words of encouragement. On the bus, he let me sit on the inside, away from the people, and I rested my head on his shoulder. He moved a few strands of hair away from my face and I smiled gratefully at him before I drifted off to sleep with Ricky looking after me.
