Alec's POV:

I stood in the control room, papers and books strewn before me as I pointed out different things to various people. Sometimes these people could be so incompetent. When the last person had scuttled off I thought I finally had time to finish my work. Man was I wrong. My attention was drawn away from my work by a piercing wail followed by a string of muffled curses. A second later Jace came hurrying into the room, panic evident on his face as he haphazardly cradled a baby in his arms. My baby to be exact.

"Jace, what the hell did you do?" I asked as I hurried to meet him and save my daughter from his dangerously unprepared arms. "I was just trying to make her smile with some funny faces, and it was working for a little while, but then I made a face that I guess she thought was scary and turned into a banshee," he rushed out. I stared at him incredulously for a moment before I asked, "And how exactly did you get a hold of her? I told Izzy to watch her." Jace scratched the back of his neck nervously as he replied, "See the thing is that Simon did something stupid and Izzy had to go help, so she thrust your little demon spawn on me and said she'd be back in no time. She also said not to be seen by you."

I mentally facepalmed myself as I growled out, "Clearly I can't trust any of you with my child." Jace threw up his hands in self-defense and backed out of the room. I turned my attention back to the crying infant in my arms and moved her so she was supported against my chest. I began to bounce a little and rub her back as I said, "Shh, shh, shh. It's okay, Ramona, daddy's got you," in a soothing tone. Eventually she calmed down and I felt her little face burrowing into my chest as her tiny fingers held my shirt. She looked up at me for a moment, yawning, and I saw her blue eyes, the same ones her mom has.

Y/n's POV:

I hurried down the hallway to the control room. I had just run into Izzy, who breathlessly told me the whole story of what happened with Simon, Jace, and my daughter. I knew Alec could not be happy right now. He was so protective over Ramona and only trusted two people to watch her. As I rounded the corner, I stopped short at the sight before me. Alec was standing in the middle of the room, giving orders over the baby's head while cradling her in his arms and being extremely gentle. My heart couldn't handle how adorable this was. I made my way over to Alec and gently rested my hand on his shoulder so as not to scare him. When he saw me, his expression softened and he smiled softly. "Hey you, how's it going in here?" I asked as I let my other hand rest on Ramona's little back. "It's going good, though Jace practically throwing my child around like a roller coaster was not the highlight of my day." I laughed at his response as I met his gaze.

With no words needed, he carefully drew Ramona's fingers from his shirt and transferred her into my arms. I stayed still for a minute as she readjusted and then she went back to sleep. I looked up to see Alec's eyes full of pure adoration. That is, until he turned his attention to someone behind me. I turned to see Jace walking towards us and Alec moved a little closer to me. "Hey guys, are we having a nice little family get together here?" I felt Alec bristle behind me and I rolled my eyes internally. "What do you want know?" I heard him ask. "Woah there, no need for the aggression.""Oh yeah, sure, like you didn't just try to drop my baby," Alec sarcastically replied. "But I didn't." Jace ventured.

Alec silently glared at him as I sighed and said, "Maybe from now on you can just watch when someone else is with you.""Sounds good to me, your little one has quite the lungs." I chuckled quietly as Jace smiled before his eyes shot up to Alec quickly. "How long do you think he'll be mad?" He asked, not taking his eyes off of my husband. "You'll probably be fine tomorrow.""Perfect," he declared before he hurried off. I turned around to face Alec as he said, "I'm so whipping his ass during training tomorrow.""Of course you will," I said, my hand going out to run his arm before returning back to resting on Ramona's back. He sighed but he couldn't help the smile on his face as he leaned down to kiss me. "Well Mrs. Lightwood, what do you say to an early end to work and a nap?""Well Mr. Lightwood, I'd have to say that that sounds wonderful to me." Alec chuckled as he put his hand on the small of my back and led me to our rooms.
