samantha mills was trained to become a ranking member of the league of assassin's by her mother, elizabeth, and her godmother, talia to when she was 4 until she was 12. when she was 11, her mother and talia had taken her to meet bruce wayne and made her first friend, dick grayson. the girl figured out bruce and dick were batman and robin within like a week or 2 after her first time saying there like 2 weeks in, kind of hard to keep a secret identity from someone living with you who had no clue. and that someone who was a teenage girl who was nosy and snoopy and she became batman's second sidekick, with him telling her mother that she has potential to be something great to the world. and then the identity of instinct was born
sam and dick were inseparable and always stuck by one another. as the years went on sam got have more independence outside of wayne manor, and she loved having female friends around like dawn granger and donna troy. having people like them around just made sam feel more normal and less sheltered
and then, due to certain tragic events, she gave dick space cause it was right for the both of them. but when comes back and tries to fix things, he just ends up cutting all of his ties from sam and basically had vanished for three years. she didn't know what she did wrong to make him do that. she cared so much for him and to see him push her away just made everything hurt more
it's now 2018, and she's in her late 20s now being a full time nanny for this kid whose parents paid her to watch over him. his family was rich enough to pay for their sons' protection, sam was happy enough to do that. she wasn't a huge fan of kids but cam seemed chill enough to handle, up until he had ran away with one of his classmates to detroit and is reunited with an old friend by unforeseen circumstances that she did not want to be in but is forced into anyways
