Lloyd glanced down at the tiny, whimpering soul clinging to Rebecca's chest and his eyes widened. "We were told we were having a boy...we ordered a boy," he exclaimed.

Rebecca couldn't help but chuckle at Lloyd's franticness. "Lloyd," she said softly, running her nose lovingly across the top of the baby's head, "look at what we made."

"We made a boy!" Lloyd exclaimed, looking right at the doctors and nurses.

Olivia, shook her head softly chiming in with a chuckle. "Lloyd, sometimes these things are misconstrued on the scans. It's never one hundred percent."

"Definitely not," Olivia reassured him with a smile. But then her brows furrowed suddenly, and she turned to the doctor. "Dr...?"

Rebecca was lost in a bubble of overwhelming emotion. Her heart was so full it could burst. She never thought she could love something like this. She was besotted, paradoxically elated and heartbroken by this little bundle of perfection at the same time.

"Look at her," Rebecca said, smiling up at Lloyd with tears of joy in her eyes.

Lloyd's gaze drifted down to their newborn daughter, kissing the top of her head. "She's beautiful, like you," he said, his voice quivering with emotion.

But their moment of bliss was interrupted by the doctor's firm voice. "Lloyd, could you take baby for a moment? We need to do some little checks on mom."

Nodding, Rebecca handed her over.  Her heart swelled even more seeing her in Lloyds arms, she looked even smaller cradelled in them.  Lloyd looked like he could have been knocked over by a feather.

"You are so beautiful," He whispered sweetly at the baby, "I love you."

The doctor's voice cut through the moment like a knife. "We're going to have to take you to theatre, Miss Gunn. You're losing more blood than we're comfortable with."

Rebecca smiled up at Lloyd, gently shaking her head, "No..." she said, incomprehensively, "I'm fine, I feel fine."

"Rebecca?" Lloyd's voice trembled.

It didn't feel real to Rebecca, she truly felt fine.  And although the doctors and nurses seemed concerned, she wasn't.  She finally felt as though her heart was whole again, and all of those pieces of herself that had fallen out of place had been filled in and renewed.

"I'll be right back..." She smiled reassuringly at Lloyd as she was wheeled out of the room, "Look after our baby girl."

Olivia tried to take the baby from Lloyd's arms, but he held onto her refusing to let go, "I'm just going to weigh her." The nurse said gently, "I'll weigh her and get her dressed, then we'll get her a bottle and you can feed her." A tear slipped down his cheek as he released his grip, allowing Olivia to take the baby from him.

As he followed Olivia to the crib, Lloyd found himself stuck in a trance. His eyes were fixed on the tiny bundle before him, but his mind was consumed with thoughts of Rebecca. He felt as though he was being torn in two, unable to protect them both.

And then, the weight of reality hit him like a ton of bricks. "Six pounds five ounces, 22 inches long," Olivia announced, her voice gentle and soothing.

Lloyd choked back a sob, his heart heavy with emotion. "What does that mean?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Olivia smiled softly, her eyes filled with love and tenderness. "She's long and petite," she replied, as she carefully swaddled the baby in three blankets.

As Olivia dressed the baby in a powder blue onesie, Lloyd watched in awe. He couldn't believe that this tiny, fragile creature was his daughter. His heart swelled with love and pride, but also with fear and uncertainty.

Olivia left Lloyd cradeling the newborn in his arms and made her way to the waiting room.

The door burst open. Arthur, Lizanne, Hazel, and McKenna jumped up, their hearts racing with anticipation. But their excitement quickly turned to disappointment as they realized Lloyd was not with Olivia.

Their faces fell, and they sank back into their seats. McKenna held her breath, tears brimming in her eyes, while Hazel placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. Arthur and Lizanne stood frozen, their eyes wide with fear.

Olivia approached them delicately, asking if they were there for Lloyd and Rebecca. They nodded slowly, their hearts heavy with worry.

With a firm but gentle voice, Olivia explained that Rebecca had been taken to the operating room due to excessive bleeding. Lloyd was with her, and they could all go in and visit him for support.

As they entered the labor room, they saw Lloyd sitting with a nurse in pink scrubs, learning how to feed and wind the baby. His eyes were red and puffy, and his voice caught in his throat as he spoke.

Lizanne nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. Olivia encouraged Lloyd to share the news, and with a sad chuckle, he announced that it was a girl.

The room was filled with a mix of emotions - fear, sadness, and joy.

"I can't lose her." Lloyd gasped, his words cutting through the air and into the chests of his visitors.

Arthur brushed his thumb delicately across the cheek of his granddaughter, "You wont."

"I mean Rebecca."

"I know who you meant, and my statement remains the same. You wont."

Lizanne, Hazel and McKenna left to rid the house of pale blue and replace it all with pastel pink. Leaving Arthur and Lloyd to bond over and with this spectacular little being that by the minute was learning quite quickly how to wrap them both around her teeny tiny little fingers. Their hearts were hers.

"Can I hold her?" Arthur asked.

Lloyd nodded, handing her over with the most meticulous care.

A tear slipped out of the corner of Arthurs eye, "Do you know what my biggest regret is?"

Lloyd could rhyme off a list of things he held against his father but he remained silent just watching and waiting.

"I should have told you what an idiot you were being."

Nodding, Lloyd understood. He was referring to the divorce. Funny how their regrets were circled by the same event.

Arthur swayed his body, gently rocking the sweet bundle in his arms, "I know I should regret not being a better father, or human. I know my faults, I'm glad they aren't mirrored in you. If you don't mind, I'd like to make up for them by being everything and more to this little darling."

Lloyd simply replied with, "Okay."
