"When I'm with him, I feel like the hero of a story, of my story...."
I bring the book down to lay against my face as I stare up at the ceiling.
It's been a while since I've picked up this book, surprised it's taken me a couple of months to read when before it would only take days.
Reality has become better than fantasy.
I blush, the book's quote sticking into my head.
I understand why she feels that way.
I hold my breath as Taehyung's face comes to mind.
When I'm with him, I don't feel so insignificant. I feel that I'm seen as an equal. I appreciate how much he listens to me. I appreciate it so much.
Sitting up, I set the book down and pick up my phone. Earlier, he was texting me about how his Sociology class had a lecture outside so he wouldn't get to see me in passing. I was a little disappointed, and even wished we could do something like that in our English Composition class. How fun would it be to wander at a museum?
But our classes were coming to a semester's end. What would it be like next semester? Would we have a class together? Would it be greedy of me to ask?
I close my eyes and listen to how hard my heart is beating. All these racing thoughts not stopping.
This is scary...
"Boo!"
I jump, embarrased to find my mother standing at the door watching me.
"M-Mom!" I scold her in a whisper. With a laugh, she jumps onto the bed next to me. Brushing my hair behind my ears, she takes my long strands and plays with it.
"Sorry, you looked lost in your thoughts. What were you thinkng about? Stressed about finals so soon?"
I shake my head. "No... not finals. Just...thinking about how much fun I've been having."
She tilts her head with a smile. "I know... you're almost never home anymore these days."
"I'm sorry!"
She scoffs. "For what? I'm perfectly fine by myself, thank you! But I wouldn't mind hearing more about what you're doing. Makes me miss my time in college."
