"Jungwon, I've been thinking about what you said," I began hesitantly, my voice trembling with uncertainty. I desperately searched for the right words, wanting to convey my feelings without hurting him. "I... I suppose I could be your owner."

Jungwon's eyes lit up with a mixture of hope and excitement, his tail twitching in anticipation. "Really? You mean it, Ji-yoon?" His voice quivered with a hint of vulnerability as if he couldn't quite believe what he was hearing.

I nodded slowly, my heart pounding in my chest. The weight of my decision felt heavy, uncertain of where it would lead us. "Yes, but on one condition," I added, my voice firm yet laced with hesitation. "We'll need to establish some ground rules. I value my personal space and independence, so I hope you understand that I can't have a cat constantly around me. You'll have to respect my boundaries."

Jungwon's ears drooped slightly, a hint of disappointment flickering in his eyes. "Then a cat won't constantly be around you. I'll just change into human form," he said, his voice echoing in my mind with an undertone of mischief. I sighed, realizing that our journey together was going to be far more complex than I had initially imagined.

"Let's discuss the logistics," I suggested, trying to regain control of the situation. "Where will you stay when you're in cat form? And how will we manage your transformations?"

Before Jungwon could respond, a sound echoed through the house, sending a shiver down my spine. It was the distinct creaking of a door opening, a sound I hadn't heard in what felt like an eternity. I froze in place, my eyes widening in disbelief. It couldn't be... Could it?

As I turned towards the entrance, my heart skipped a beat. There, standing in the doorway, were my parents. The shock overwhelmed me, and I stood there, speechless for a moment, unable to comprehend the reality of their presence. Then, a mixture of joy, surprise, and apprehension flooded my senses.

"Mom, Dad?" I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper. "What... what are you doing here?" Tears welled up in my eyes as I struggled to find words to express the depth of my emotions. The absence of their presence had left a void in my life, and now, their unexpected return filled me with a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.

They exchanged a knowing glance before smiling warmly at me, their eyes shining with love and longing. "We wanted to surprise you, sweetheart," my mother said, stepping forward and enveloping me in a tight embrace. "We missed you so much."

The floodgates of emotion burst open, and I couldn't help but cling to them, my tears mingling with their embrace. It had been so long since I last saw them since I felt the warmth of their love and the reassurance of their presence. Their unexpected visit filled me with both overwhelming joy and uncertainty about what it meant for our future.

But as my parents' gaze shifted past me, their eyes fell upon Jungwon, now in his cat form. Their smiles widened, and they approached him with a mixture of curiosity and fondness. Their hands reached out, eager to stroke his fur and immerse themselves in his playful nature.

"Oh my, what an adorable cat!" my father exclaimed, his voice filled with childlike wonder. "Where did he come from, Ji-yoon?" His eyes sparkled with delight, his curiosity piqued by the presence of this extraordinary feline.

I took a deep breath, mustering the courage to voice my concerns once again. "I found him under a car when it was raining." The words tumbled out, a mixture of uncertainty and hope lacing my voice.

Their eyes widened in surprise, their faces a portrait of bewilderment. But instead of the expected confusion or skepticism, they seemed intrigued, captivated by the notion of such an extraordinary ability.

"Is that so?" my mother said, her voice filled with worry. She bent down to gently scratch behind Jungwon's ears, her touch evoking a purr of contentment from him. "Poor thing. You must've been terrified."

My heart sank as I realized that they were falling for his charm just like I did. "But Mom, Dad, I don't want to keep him. I agreed to be his owner reluctantly, and now that you're back, I was hoping we could find a more suitable home for him."

My parents exchanged a knowing glance, their expressions softening. The depth of their understanding was etched on their faces, a testament to the love they held for me. "Ji-yoon, we understand your concerns, but we've missed having a pet in our lives. And this cat... he seems special. We won't let you give him away," my father said, determination lacing his words.

A surge of frustration and helplessness washed over me. How could they dismiss my wishes so easily? I turned to Jungwon, who was watching the conversation unfold with a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. His sassy looks spoke volumes, silently mocking me for my failed attempt to rid myself of his presence.

Resigned, I let out a defeated sigh, feeling the weight of defeat settle upon my shoulders. It seemed that my parent's decision was final, and I had no choice but to accept it. Perhaps there was something more to Jungwon's connection with me than I initially realized. Only time would reveal the secrets hidden within his feline form and the impact he would have on our lives.

And so, as I glanced at Jungwon, who now sported a smug expression, I braced myself for the uncharted journey of being a cat owner to a boy who could turn into a cat – a journey that would undoubtedly be filled with surprises, challenges, and a bond that surpassed the boundaries of the ordinary.
