As we walked back home together, the awkwardness lingered in the air. The conversation about the rumors had left a bitter taste, and I couldn't shake off the tension between us. Finally, unable to bear the silence any longer, I decided to address the elephant in the room.

"So, what do you think we should do about these rumors?" I asked, my voice laced with an undeniable hint of annoyance.

Jungwon sighed his tone curt. "I already told you, who cares? Let them talk. It doesn't change anything."

"So... Should we start planning our wedding?" I asked, raising an eyebrow playfully as I tried to lighten up the mood.

Jungwon rolled his eyes, a smirk forming on his lips. "What's your ring size?"

I chuckled, shaking my head as we continued to play along with our joke. "Just watch you're going to pull up with a ring pop on our wedding." I joked, lightly patting his shoulder as I laughed. He stuck his tongue against the inside of his cheek, his lips curved up into a smirk as he looked down at the floor.

We continued our banter, exchanging witty remarks and teasing each other mercilessly. It was our way of dealing with the rumors, by making light of the situation and not letting it affect us.

"So," I began, pretending to be serious, "what do you say we start our own rumor? Something crazy. Maybe that we've secretly been engaged for a year." The mischievous glint in my eyes matched the mischievous tone in my voice as I proposed this wild idea to Jungwon.

Jungwon couldn't help but laugh at my suggestion. He looked down at me, his expression softening as he gave me a small grin. "So you'll be willing to be called mine and walk around with a ring pop on your finger?" he asked, his voice laced with amusement.

I playfully rolled my eyes in response. "Yeah, no, but if it was a diamond ring, I wouldn't mind," I joked, my gaze shifting to my ring finger. The playful banter earned another laugh from Jungwon, his laughter filling the air around us.

"Worth it," he muttered under his breath, almost as if he didn't intend for me to hear it. His words caught me off guard, and I looked at him with raised eyebrows, curiosity dancing in my eyes.

"Worth it?" I repeated, my surprised expression transforming into a teasing grin. I couldn't resist poking fun at him, eager to dig deeper into his unexpected comment.

Jungwon averted his gaze, his cheeks slightly flushed. "What do you mean? I didn't say that," he replied, attempting to brush off his slip of the tongue.

But I wasn't about to let him off the hook so easily. With a mischievous spark in my eyes, I playfully nudged myself into his side, wrapping my arms around his arm and snuggling against him. "You'd like it if I was called yours?" I raised an eyebrow, my voice filled with playful curiosity.

Jungwon sighed, giving in to my playful advances as he pushed me off gently, a small scoff escaping his lips. His resistance only fueled my laughter as we continued our walk back home, the comfortable silence enveloping us.

Despite the lightheartedness of our exchange, I couldn't help but secretly feel a mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling inside me. As we walked side by side, my mind spun with thoughts, contemplating the deeper meaning behind Jungwon's slip of words. The whole way home, I couldn't shake off the anticipation of what might unfold between us, wondering if there was more to our bond than just playful banter and laughter.

As we reached our doorstep, I turned to Jungwon, my heart pounding in my chest. "You know, maybe there's some truth to those rumors," I said, my voice filled with a newfound sincerity.

Jungwon looked at me, his eyes filled with a mix of surprise and curiosity. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice softer now, devoid of the playful banter that had carried us through the evening.

"I mean," I began, taking a deep breath, "It's nothing." I brushed it off. It was as if my mouth was talking on its own, I didn't even mean to say what I said before. Thoughts invaded my head before I turned the doorknob, walking inside. Jungwon seemed to sense the tension and decided to brush it off, walking to the couch.
