As the gym class ended, I felt a wave of awkwardness settle between Jungwon and me. We walked back to our class in silence, and I couldn't help but wonder why he had been acting so distant lately. Just as I was lost in my thoughts, Hanni approached me and noticed my upset expression.

"Babe, don't think about him," Hanni said reassuringly, placing a comforting hand on my back. "Let's just focus on getting through school together."

My smile returned, appreciating Hanni's support. "You're right," I replied softly. "I shouldn't let it bother me. We have more important things to worry about."

With that, I turned and walked back to my friend Hanni, feeling a sense of relief knowing that I had someone by my side who truly understood me.

As my classmates and I made our way into the classroom, I was filled with anticipation, eager to find my seat. However, my eagerness quickly turned to dismay when my foot unexpectedly collided with someone else's, causing me to lose my balance and stumble, ultimately landing on the hard classroom floor. The impact sent a jolt of pain shooting through my ankle, prompting a quiet yelp that I stifled, determined not to draw attention.

The surrounding students gasped, their expressions filled with concern, as the person responsible for the accidental trip grew visibly worried and apologized profusely. My trembling hand instinctively reached for my throbbing ankle, my brows furrowing with the intensity of the pain. Unshed tears glistened in my eyes, reflecting both physical discomfort and a hint of embarrassment.

Amidst the commotion, a gentle touch landed on my shoulder, causing me to turn my head. I was about to hear the comforting voice of Sunwoo, expressing his concern, but before he could finish his sentence, someone swiftly intervened. Strong arms slid under my underarms and lifted me effortlessly from the floor, their touch instantly recognizable.

The person supporting me grabbed my arm and then carefully wrapped it around their broad shoulders, providing the much-needed stability for me to walk. There was an air of authority in their voice as they informed the teacher, "Miss, we are headed to the nurse," leaving no room for objections. Together, we made our way out of the classroom, leaving behind a worried and curious crowd.
Tears still pricked at my eyes as we walked out of the door.

I glanced to my side, and as expected, I saw Jungwon walking beside me. With each step we took, I couldn't help but emit a hiss of pain, the weight on my twisted ankle causing anguish. However, Jungwon seemed focused and determined, seemingly oblivious to my discomfort as he pressed forward, driven by the urgency to get me to the nurse as quickly as possible.

"Jungwon, it hurts..." I managed to stammer through the pain, my voice trembling. Sensing my distress, Jungwon came to a sudden stop, his concerned gaze shifting downwards to my injured ankle. His eyes softened with empathy as he gently released his grip on me and knelt down, bringing himself closer to my level.

"Hop on," Jungwon instructed in a calm yet authoritative tone. The tears that have been building up in my eyes finally rolled down my cheek. I hesitated for a moment, my body tense from the pain, but I summoned the strength to comply. With a mix of hesitancy and determination, I hopped onto Jungwon's back, struggling to find a comfortable position despite the throbbing in my ankle.

As I wrapped my arms around Jungwon's neck and held on tight, I couldn't help but feel a wave of emotions rushing through me. Despite the awkwardness that had settled between us earlier, his unwavering support at this moment made me realize that there was still a deep connection between us.

Jungwon straightened his back and adjusted his grip to ensure my stability. With each step he took, I could feel his muscles tense and flex, carrying the weight of both my body and the situation that had unfolded. His determination was palpable, and it gave me a glimmer of hope that maybe things could be resolved between us.
