Jungwon turned to face me, a playful glint in his eyes. "So, did you enjoy the ride?" he asked, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

I rolled my eyes, unable to suppress my smile. "I can't believe you carried me all the way out here," I replied, shaking my head in mock disbelief.

He shrugged nonchalantly. "I couldn't let those cute socks get dirty, could I?" he teased, his voice laced with affection. His playful banter brought a sense of normalcy to the situation, grounding me in the present moment.

Together, we walked side by side, our footsteps echoing through the empty school grounds. The sound of laughter and distant conversations filled the air, a comforting reminder that life continued to move forward. As we reached the soccer field, I couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of excitement. The upcoming game, the camaraderie of my teammates, and the joy of playing the sport I loved overshadowed any lingering doubts or insecurities.

With a deep breath, I tightened my grip on my cleats and embraced the challenge that lay ahead. No longer burdened by the opinions of others or the weight of expectations, I stepped onto the field, ready to leave my mark and prove that I was more than just a girl wearing an oversized jersey.

The blazing sun beat down relentlessly on the soccer field, casting an oppressive atmosphere that only added to the immense pressure I already carried as the captain of our girls' high school soccer team. Every step I took was weighed down by the scorching heat, and the weight of responsibility pressed heavily upon my shoulders. The beads of sweat that formed on my forehead mingled with a tumultuous mix of emotions swirling within me.

"Shin Ji-yoon!" Coach Park's voice sliced through the thick, sticky air, sharp and disapproving, as his scolding was awaiting me for the detention I had received. I walked toward Coach Park, standing in front of him with my hands fiddling with the bottom of my shirt as I nervously looked up at him. It was bad enough to be reprimanded in front of the entire team, but what made it worse was the presence of Jungwon, the captain of the boys' team. He always seemed to revel in my misfortune, taking pleasure in seeing me chastised.

Coach Park's words echoed in my ears, mirroring the self-doubt and disappointment that consumed me.
"Ji-yoon, this behavior is unacceptable! How could you be so irresponsible and end up in detention?"

My gaze dropped to the ground, shame, and guilt washing over me. I had never intended for things to unfold this way, for me to let my team down. "I... I didn't mean for it to happen, Coach. It was just a misunderstanding." My voice quivered slightly, betraying the inner turmoil I was experiencing.

Coach Park maintained his stern expression, his hands firmly planted on his hips. "Misunderstanding or not, you should have been more careful. As the captain, you need to set an example for the team."

Frustration simmered within me as I glanced over at Jungwon, who stood at a distance, his teasing smirk serving as a constant reminder of the obstacles I faced. Why wasn't he being scolded as well? We had both received detention together, so why was he seemingly exempt from the consequences?

"Why isn't Jungwon being scolded? We were both involved in this," I voiced my confusion, narrowing my eyes as I looked at him.

Coach Park's attention shifted toward Jungwon, granting me a brief respite from his scolding. "Jungwon, you'll have your turn. Right now, I'm addressing Shin Ji-yoon," he stated firmly, brushing aside my concerns.

As Coach Park concluded his scolding, he called Jungwon over, and our paths crossed. An instinctive smirk stretched across my face as I stuck my tongue out at him, reveling in the satisfaction of the impending reprimand that awaited him.

"Enjoy your scolding, Jungwon. You deserve it as much as I do," I taunted, my voice dripping with sarcasm. Jungwon's annoyed glare only fueled my satisfaction, and he wiped the sweat off his forehead with the towel draped over his shoulders.

My triumph, however momentary, was quickly swept away as Jungwon, to my surprise, received his own scolding from Coach Park.

"Jungwon, I expected better from you. This type of behavior is unacceptable for a team captain," Coach Park's voice resonated with disappointment.

Jungwon bowed, his expression contrite. "Sorry, Coach. I promise it won't happen again."
