We had finally arrived at the correct address, and before I knocked on the door, I hesitantly looked over at Jungwon. We waited outside until the door opened, revealing Sunwoo, who was dressed impeccably. "Hey Yoon- oh, hello Jungwon," Sunwoo exclaimed, taken aback by Jungwon's presence. However, he did not seem disappointed; instead, he appeared happier.

Jungwon nodded in response, and we waited for Sunwoo's mother to appear. Her smile was warm and welcoming, and she pushed her son aside to make way for us to enter. "Oh hello, you two," she said. "It's so nice to meet you guys. We are always happy to meet Sunwoo's friends." We bowed as we entered the house and took off our shoes. Sunwoo carefully took the coat that wrapped around my body and put it on a rack. We made eye contact and shared soft smiles.

However, Jungwon suddenly interrupted the moment by putting his arm between us as he put his coat on the rack. He gave Sunwoo a sharp glare, and Sunwoo raised his eyebrows. We all sat down at the table, and I sat between Sunwoo and Jungwon, feeling the tension between them.

Mrs Park was in the kitchen finishing up some stuff before she joined us and started the conversation. "So, Jungwon is it?" Mrs Park questioned as she placed some silverware on the table and some plates while looking at Jungwon.

With a courteous smile, he lowered his head in a bow as a sign of respect towards the woman addressing him. "Yes, ma'am," he replied in a gentle tone.

"Oh come on, don't be so formal, we are all connected here," Mrs Park smiled. "By that, I mean you share a gift just like my husband and son do, meaning we already have a connection," Mrs Park smiled. Jungwon hummed in response with a smile, appearing more relaxed now.

As Mrs Park busied herself in the kitchen, Mr Park, Sunwoo's father, walked in and planted a loving kiss on his wife's lips. At first, everyone in the room seemed to brush it off as a normal gesture of affection, but something caught my attention. I noticed that despite the kiss, Mr Park did not transform into a dog, something that should have happened.

My eyes widened, and I looked over at Jungwon to gauge his reaction. However, he did not seem to care about the kiss Meanwhile, I struggled to comprehend what I had just witnessed. I looked down at my empty plate, unsure if I was the only one feeling perplexed.

Soon after, the food arrived, and I couldn't help but drool at the sight of it. The dinner was filled with conversations and laughter, but as it came to an end, I still couldn't shake off the confusion caused by the earlier incident.

As we bid goodbye to Sunwoo's family and started walking towards the door, I suddenly stopped in my tracks. A question that had been gnawing at my mind the entire time needed an answer.

I turned back and walked towards Sunwoo, who was about to shut the door. He looked surprised to see me coming back. "Did you forget something?" he asked, tilting his head like a dog.

I took a deep breath and looked up at him. "Sunwoo, I've been meaning to ask this whole time," I said, my voice trembling slightly.

Sunwoo's eyes widened, probably thinking that this was going to be a confession. I quickly waved my hands in front of my face, a small blush creeping up my cheeks. "No, no, it's not like that!" I protested.

Sunwoo chuckled at her reaction and said, "Go on."

I mustered up the courage to ask, "When your parents kissed earlier, your father didn't transform. Why is that?"

Sunwoo smiled and explained, "It's simple. It's because it's a mutual connection. In other terms, true love." He paused for a moment before continuing, "But the kiss can only last about twenty seconds max. If it lasts longer, the person will turn into a dog, no matter if the two have a mutual connection. But there's a fix to that, and well..." Sunwoo trailed off, his cheeks turning red with embarrassment.

"What is it?" I questioned a confused expression claiming my face.

As I stood there, pondering over the question, Jungwon appeared behind me and put his arm around my shoulder. He leaned in and whispered the solution into my ear, and I could feel his breath on my skin. "Fucking." I looked down at the ground, feeling my cheeks heat up and turn a soft shade of pink. Everything went silent for a moment, until Sunwoo burst out laughing, breaking the silence and leaving me feeling flustered and regretful for asking the question.

Jungwon noticed my expression and patted my shoulder, saying, "Yeah, now you know." He let out a small laugh and waved to Sunwoo, saying "Night." as he closed the door. I groaned in humiliation and covered my face with my hands, feeling embarrassed about the situation. Jungwon and I walked together, his arm still around my shoulder.

As we walked, Jungwon sensed my embarrassment and reassured me with a playful smile, "You don't have to feel bad for being curious; it just means you're human." Although I nodded, I still felt embarrassed and looked up at him, waiting for his response.

Jungwon teased me by laughing and saying, "Yeah, it was pretty embarrassing." I playfully smacked his shoulder, causing him to yelp. "Oh, by the way, how's your ankle?" he asked, looking down at it.

I almost forgot about the injury and replied, "It's doing good. I feel a little sting here and there, but other than that, it's alright."

Jungwon nodded and said, "That's good," as he looked ahead, noticing the apartment come into view. We continued walking towards the apartment, chatting and laughing, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for Jungwon's reassuring presence.
