i told myself i would do more work today but as always journaling took my time up, i have been hiding my journal in between one of my copies for the past half an hour so it looks like I'm writing some study notes or something and by the looks of it, serenity didn't catch on to me yet.

"And I'm not saying he can't have his own traditions I'm  just saying why does it have to be forced onto me?!" Then again, serenity is to busy ranting to me about how her baba is begging her to look for a husband,

"Mmmhmm" i reply absentmindedly, looking towards my journal as I continue writing down what I can't say out loud.

Ace... he is becoming more of a problem now than ever. I can't decide if i liked it better when he would ignore me or now when he can't ignore me and I can't ignore him either. Every time we are in the same room for more than 5 minutes i burn up with heat. He gave me a chain yesterday with a Nigerian flag charm on it.... A Nigerian flag charm! How can i not feel how i feel? But then again, I'm confused. Because who is this raven girl to him? Why is he getting me these things if raven is still in the picture? The last thing I want to do is be involved in some type of love triangle... speaking of-

"I mean would it really be so bad if I decided i didn't even want to get married at all?" She whines, her body flopped straight onto the bed with her legs up straight against the wall as she chomps down on some snacks,

"Right..." i hum with my head down,

"Are you even listening to me?" She asks me in Yoruba, sitting up, looking at me with raised brows.

"Huh? Yes of course! Im just trying to get through this work." I shake my notebook in the air to try convince her,

"How aren't you as annoyed as i am about this? I mean uncle is just as strict as my dad. In other words your clock is ticking just as fast as mine" she says tilting her head, pointing her finger to her wrist.

"I suppose I've just learned how to mute baba's voice when it doesn't fit." I shrug my shoulders still looking down at my journal practically burning a hole through my page with how fast i write.

"Shouldn't you be focused on the charity event we have going on?" She squints her eyes at me sitting up to stare me down,

Serenity and i have been wanting to do this charity event dedicated to helping protect black women forever!

And now that our foundation has been up for almost a year, we can actually make the dream a reality. She has been printing fliers and advertising while i have been doing the academic side and researching.

But the funds haven't always been on our side.

I all but jump out of my bed when i hear the door bang 3 hard times, i am in my tribal printed pink and black kaftan that goes all the way down to my ankles and thanks to serenity my hair has been braided a few nights back into knee lenght knotless black braids that she forced me to put these golden clasps on them since i refused to put colour in.

I rushed up to the door to see who was there expecting it to be oliver since he is always ready to study even when we aren't supposed to.
