Annoyance filled Ayla's body as she crossed her arms over her chest. Looking at the mess in front of her. In the middle of the night, she was awakened by her boyfriend and his best friend to chase a van full of 'stolen goods'.

Tapping her foot, she waited impatiently as an EMT put Stiles' wrist in a splint.

"What in the hell were you three thinking?" the sheriff asked the teens as he approached the crashed van.

Ayla quickly turned to face the man, putting her hands in the air. "I was not a part of this I swear. I was innocently sleeping in my bed when Stiles and Scott kidnapped me, ranting about some lunatic who stole a van."

The boys turned to her with wide eyes. "Brutus." Stiles gasped, crossing his arms. "Traitor."

"Yeah, that always seems to be the case with you Ayla," Stilinski muttered, pitching the bridge of his nose.

"We were just trying to help," Scott tried to assure the man.

"Why don't you try and help me understand..." Stilinski turned to the crashed van with claw marks in the hood. "What the hell happened here?"

"Right, well," Stiles began, "we were trying to gently persuade him to pull over..." 'gently' actually meant Scott went full red-eyed werewolf on the man.

"He was getting away?" Scott tried to cover but it didn't help much.

"He got away," the sheriff reminded them.

"Right. Because obviously, he's some sort of criminal mastermind, Dad," Stiles ranted as the Sheriff made his way to the back of the van.

"Uh-huh. Do you want to guess what the stolen merchandise is? Hmm?" Stilinski opened the back doors and showed the three teens the truck up of tanks.

Letting out a huh Stiles guessed, "Critical life-saving medical equipment?"

"No." The sheriff shook his head.

"Poison gas?" he guessed again.

"Nope."

"Filled with drugs?"

"Helium," Stilinski corrected.

"Helium?"

Ayla's face turned red as she slowly turned to her boyfriend. "Helium. You kidnapped me from my home to chase a man who stole helium!?"

Stiles quietly apologized but Ayla didn't want to hear it. She put her hand in front of Stiles face and stormed back towards his jeep while Stiles apologized over and over. Scott gave the sheriff an apologetic look before following his friends into Stiles' jeep. Scott drove due to Stiles hurt arm and it was mostly done in silence due to the somber mood.

"This could be a good thing," Scott tried to point out.

Stiles let out a sigh, readjusting his body. "That we saved helium?"

"I mean, that..." Scott paused, trying to find the best words to say. "They don't need us anymore."

The sheriff's son couldn't help but scoff at this. "Okay, well, they need us. They just don't know it."

Ayla reached from the back seat, placing her hand on his shoulder. "We're all going off to college soon. So Beacon Hills is gonna have to survive without us."

"Beacon Hills will burn to the ground without us," Stiles muttered.

Ayla knew what this really was about. Stiles was more afraid of the pack breaking up and not seeing each other any more than he was about Beacon Hills needing them. He was scared that once they went to college nothing would be the same as it once was.
