The force of her jump was so hard that the chair under Ayla fell backward with a loud bang. There was no time to pick it up, Ayla had to get to Stiles before it was too late. Her heart was in her throat at the thought of not reaching him in time.

The doors to the school burst open and Ayla came rushing into the hall, not even caring about the multiple police officers all around her or the dead body that was found. She was moving so fast that Ayla practically came barreling around the corner, running right into Liam's small body, sending the two to the ground.

"Ayla?" he asked, concerned. "I'm sorry, are you okay?"

"Liam, thank god. Have you seen Stiles?" Ayla asked as Hayden and Mason helped her up from the ground.

"Are you alright?" Hayden asked.

Ayla nodded, out of breath. "Yes, yes I'm fine. Have any of you seen Stiles? I need to find him."

"Woah, slow down," Hayden shook her head. "What's going on?"

Taking a deep breath Ayla explained slower, "I need to find Stiles, I have to get to him before the Ghost Riders do. Have any of you seen him?"

The three teens look at each other and then back at the girl before Liam asks, "Who is Stiles?"

Ayla's face dropped. It was already happening, people were forgetting Stiles and it was only a matter of time before he was gone for good.

Hayden placed her hand on Ayla's arm. "Are you feeling alright? You're as white as a ghost."

Without answering, Ayla pushed away the girl's hands and went running down the hall, passing all the police officers until she burst through the back doors of the school. Her head spun in every direction, trying to think of the place Stiles would have run off to.

Worry consumed her entire body as tears threatened to spill but Ayla knew she had to get her head on straight, to focus on the task at hand. Saving Stiles. There was no room to think about losing him. If she did, Ayla was afraid it would affect her thinking.

The crash of doors pulled her attention across the courtyard. Her heart skipped a beat upon seeing her boyfriend walking out of the school. For a split second Ayla felt relief that he was still here, but that moment didn't last too long.

"Stiles!" Ayla yelled running towards him. Before he could even think, Ayla's arms were wrapped around his neck as she pulled him against her body.

"Ayla? You know me. Oh, thank god. You know me." He closed his eyes, breathing in the scent of her strawberry shampoo as he let out a sigh of relief.

"I know you. But I think everybody else is forgetting." She pulled from the hug but kept a tight grip on his arm.

Stiles opened his mouth to speak but he froze as a gust of wind blew past. Even Ayla could feel that something was off about their surroundings. Chills ran up her spine and her body felt cold despite the spring air.

"Hey, do you see him?" Stiles asked, pointing behind the girl.

Ayla turned around but there was nothing there. No one. "See what?"

"The guy on the horse."

Turning back to face her boyfriend Ayla grabbed his arm tighter. "Stiles, if you can see them, they're gonna..." she couldn't even finish the sentence as panic filled her body.

"No, I know, I know. Okay. They're comin' for me." He placed his hands on the girl's face. "So you have to get away from me right now, okay?"

What the hell was he talking about? There wasn't much that Ayla Parrish was sure about in this world but she knew one thing, and one thing only, that she loved Stiles Stikinski and that meant she would lay down her life for him. Prepared to protect that boy till her very last dying breath, Ayla wasn't going anywhere and they both knew it.
