Arriving to the most disturbing scene that I've ever witnessed in my years of being a detective, I parked in the safest park that I could find along the street. Turning my key in the ignition, I shut off the engine and stepped out my unmarked Crown Victoria to see the firefighters putting out the fire that seemed to be fighting its hardest to break down the camelback brick home.

With a plethora of people who occupied the once quiet neighborhood, I gazed at the situation at hand. My colleagues searched the surroundings as the firefighters continued to do their job.

As time went on, the crime scene was blocked off with yellow tape. With the ambulance and coroner setting up shop, I was given a proper breathing mask alongside thick gloves to search the premises alongside those amongst me who were also doing their job.

With a flashlight in hand, I found myself inside the home searching for anything pertaining to the situation. Seeing nothing that stood out downstairs, I made my way upstairs and with that I came across two charred bodies. Furrowing my eyebrows at what I was seeing before me, the crime scene investigators as well as the scientific specialists came and joined me.

As we began to dissect what was on our hands, C.S.I began putting down innovative evidence identification markers; where every bit of potential evidence shown face.

As we made our departure the informer made their way into the bedroom we once occupied. The Informer is a Crime Scene Cleaner who cleans up multiple homicides per week and has been called to shootings, stabbings, domestic fires, arson, machete attacks and meth labs. Going over what we could've possibly missed while searching the premises.

I found myself outside alongside my colleagues witnessing the coroner zipped up the bodies and loaded them on the truck.

After speaking with the neighbors, separating the witnesses, I was informed on rapid gunshots, piercing screaming; and followed by all of that was a fire...

Wrapping up some of the commotion, I walked over to officer Wesley who was indulged in conversation with Officer Hiller and Collins, greeting them by only stating their last names. "Detective", Wesley started before continuing. "Hiller and I were already in route until we were called for this situation and when made our way towards the home, we saw two niggas on foot.", he said before Hiller took over.

"Both were wearing all black and they split up and ran between homes", Hiller said and with that I had my full attention on them.

"I know for a fact that it was that nigga August. Same stature and posture. He ran between some homes and ended up on the street and I chased him down but lost that mothafucka. This shit takes the cake for all the shit he's been doing out here.", he said in an indignant tone. "I want that nigga off these streets. Why the fuck is it taking so long to take his ass out. I need him dead, tonight", he continued.

Sighing out of vexation after hearing his name, I spoke. "I'll look further into things soon as they run the forensics. Need the DNA on the bodies so we can identify them or if someone could step forward and tell us who this home belonged to. Maybe a relative.", I said as they all nodded in agreement except Wesley. "And we'll take it from there", I said not wanting to prolong the conversation. I was exhausted.

Furrowing his eyebrows, Wesley spoke. "We already know who's behind this Murphy.", he said in an irate tone. "That nigga has been out here causing havoc out here for the longest", he said before I cut him off.

"And he's out here still causing havoc because you and Collins didn't read him his rights the first time around", I spat "I'm going to do my job and y'all going to do y'all job, the correct way. If you do end up catching him up doing anything don't start shit off telling asking him if he killed your son because you don't know that shit. That emotional shit made you forget to do the only thing that we are supposed to do. I've made mistakes before but I had to face it that I had to let them go due to my mishaps.", I said and with that Wesley was about to speak but I spoke. "I'm going home", I said before walking towards unmarked car.
