Emma stood in the laboratory of Dr. Maxfield, the biology teacher for Whitmore College. Elena had told them that Wes Maxfield was aware of vampires and specifically knew that she and Caroline were just that. To add to the problem, he was carrying out experiments on vampires. When they told him that, something in Damon seemed to snap and he was all too happy to get to the bottom of what was going on. Damon was riffling around in the refrigerator that was filled with vials of all kinds.

Wes fidgeted in his bindings, looking slightly panicked "What do you want?"

"What I want is to be drinking copious quantities of booze and making out with my fiancé," Damon winked at Emma, "but unfortunately, I can't do that until I get a bunch of answers out of you."

Damon reached into the fridge and pulled out a tray of vials, the doctor's eyes got wide, "Careful with those!"

"Really?" Emma scoffed, "You are more worried about him breaking things than your current state?"

"These?" Damon feigned that he was about to accidentally drop them, "These, right here? What? I mean, we're on a college campus, right? Full of students? I mean, I can't imagine an M.D. with a bunch of infectious diseases just lying around."

Wes looked annoyed, "M.D. PhD. I'm a researcher."

"Semantics are the last thing you should be worried about," Emma looked at the professor confused about his priorities, "where is your sense of self preservation?"

"Seriously, but that's okay," Damon's eyes darkened, "I like it when they play hardball. I know a lot of people like you. Science over medicine, right? Let me guess. You use these on your little vampire lab rats, don'tcha?"

Damon seemed exceptionally sinister as Wes kept his lips tight and refused to answer.

"Not in the mood to talk? Fair enough," Damon selected a vial from the tray, "we're going to play a little game, where I inject you with whatever the hell 'necrotizing fasciitis' is."

"It's a flesh eating virus," Wes said matter of factly, but Emma could tell he was beginning to get nervous.

"Eww," Emma's nose wrinkled at the thought of seeing the aftermath of the virus.

"Gross," Damon had undoubtedly seen worse than the little virus could do, "so, I'm going to do that and then I'm going to ask you a bunch of questions, and if you answer me correctly, I'm going to give you some of my delicious vampire blood and we'll heal you on up. If you don't answer me correctly, we're just gonna have to see how much flesh these little guys can eat."

Damon filled a syringe with the virus and injected it into the doctor.

Emma's phone began to ring and she quickly pulled it out of her pocket, Damon looked at her slightly annoyed.

"I'll be right back," Emma stepped out of the lab quickly, "Matt?"

"Hey, so uh...that passenger guy is gone now," he informed her.

"The guy inside your brain? How?"

"Believe it or not Katherine and her daughter Nadia helped me."

"Crazy bitch is Katherine's kid?" Emma sighed, "Honestly I can't say I'm all that surprised."

"Yeah. Well it turns out that Katherine speaks Czech. She translated the video and explained that the guy is a Traveller and they can possess your spirt."

"I thought you were wearing the amulet that I gave you," Emma was confused.

"I was, I still am. Guess it doesn't work against these guys. Anyway, they wanted to kill Silas, now that is done and they are after Katherine."
