"-Donghyuck, you're late," said the teacher as she saw Donghyuck entering the classroom.

"Sorry for being late," replied Donghyuck, "it won't happen again"

Donghyuck quickly went to his place next to Jisung, and the teacher followed him with her eyes, her brows furrowed. It's no secret that this teacher doesn't like Donghyuck; she doesn't even try to hide it. Deep down, everyone knows she is racist.

"In some countries, you'd be dead for being late," she said.

Donghyuck froze. Like everyone else in the class, some students gave the teacher judgmental looks. Donghyuck felt awful.

It's as if memories are resurfacing, and he feels his stomach knotting. How could she say that? She knows exactly where Donghyuck comes from.

"Ma'am, you have no right to say such things to him!" Jisung replied, unable to stand what she just said to his friend. "It's the first time in 2 years he's been late, and it's only 5 minutes"

"Jisung, are you talking back?!" the teacher snapped. "I have to remind him of the standards in Canada; with his accent and his tardiness, he's worth nothing."

"You're going too far!" Chenle snapped back. "He's only 5 minutes late, and you know he's made huge progress! You can try to learn perfect Korean in 2 years and you will see that's impossible!"

Other students also protested against the teacher, fed up with her constant remarks about the young boy.

"Fine, Chenle, Jisung, I hope your parents will be happy to receive a call saying you talked back to your teacher and got expelled from the class."

Chenle and Jisung stood there, mouths agape. She couldn't do this. The other students quieted down, not wanting to be expelled too.

Jisung paled at this news; his father won't spare him when he will hears about this. Chenle left the room, holding back tears. He already knows what his parents are going to say. 'Kun never got expelled.'

Haechan was about to follow them, but the teacher stopped him.

"No, Donghyuck, you stay in class," the teacher said. "You haven't talked back to me."

Jisung slammed the door shut; it's unfair. He looked at Chenle in the hallway; he could see the frustration in his friend's teary eyes.

Jisung felt tonight was going to be tough. His father won't spare him. Both he and Chenle are tired of seeing disappointment in their parents' eyes. They know their parents won't try to understand that they're just tried to defend Donghyuck.

At best, their parents will scold them, at worst, they'll say Donghyuck is a bad influence and restrict their outings to just the two of them.

"I hate her," Chenle whispered.

"Me too," grumbled Jisung. "She has no right to do this, I'm going to get scold and looked down for hours, this is so unfair"

"I'd gladly endure hours of scolding," sighed Jisung.

Chenle turned his eyes to Jisung and hugged him, holding him tightly. He knows what the other is going through but can't do anything about it. Jisung's father is too influential. If Jisung tries to file a complaint, his father would just pay the bail, bury the case, and Jisung would say goodbye to his life within minutes.

Jisung kept his emotions inside, saving his tears for later. Chenle saw his phone light up with his mother's number; he bit his lip. Is she already aware?

He hung up, refusing to confront his parents now. He saw Jisung's phone light up a few times too with calls from his parents.

Who told them that being rich kids' lives was better? Maybe some are happy, but not them. Kun is happy, not Chenle. Jaehyun, Jisung's older brother, is also happy, but not Jisung.
