Let's have a redo
A fresh start
I'll introduce myself, you will too
I'll have a different same, so will you
We'll pretend to be strangers, learning each other for the first time
I'll open your door and pull out your seat
You'll ask when I started to do that
I'd smile, remember him
I'll tell you about a boy with hair as soft as silk that I would thread through my fingers
He loved it when I was a gentleman, opening doors for him, pulling out his seatYou won't order a tea
I'll smile and ask where that came from, remembering the times when Italian soda's were your go to
You'll smile, remembering her
You tell me about a girl whose beautiful blue eyes you'd submerge yourself in any chance you got
She preferred tea, so now you do tooWe'll try to tell old stories like new friends
Reminiscing about the times we shared like we weren't both there
But the history is apparent in our eyes as we swap stories
I'll tell you I missed you
I think you'd say so toI'll pay for dinner and drive you home
We'll laugh as we drive with the windows down
Music blaring like old timesI'll walk you up to your door
You'll pause, not sure what to do
I'll kiss your forehead
And never again wish for a redo
