You were my right person wrong time
Like in the movies, two people in love but forced apart by their circumstances until the end of the movie, when they hold each other tighter than before
Well, that's what I'd like to think anyway
That we were meant for each other, we were just walking two separate paths, watching from afar, but joining once again, walking side by side
Maybe you'll agree too
I picture the way things could have been if we could have a fresh start from where we are now
The growth we've made reshaping the way we live, the way we love
Our words are kinder, softer as they float gently from parted lips instead of spit from snarling ones
Conflicts no longer have to be solved with heavy blades and shining guns, our arms holding the other instead, apologies, and sweet understandings murmured into open ears
The world lay ahead of us, waiting to be explored, played upon, as we travel hand and hand
Doubts would dissolve before they can even take root
You will hear my cheers as I accompany you on your journey through life, lifting your head whenever it falls, kissing your tears as they caress your cheeks
So, maybe I'm a little out of line here, a little out of my mind, but if I like to think you're my right person, wrong time
