I really thought you were extraordinary, some unicorn at the end of the rainbow.
But, I've started listening to that podcast. Isn't it crazy that my new friend is also obsessed with it?
At first, I thought I was listening to you. I heard the same stories you told me years before. The same phrases that once fell from your lips fall from two girls.
I finally met that one person, unfortunately. Not by choice. An awkward bump in with an awkward exchange.
That's when I saw it. Not it, you. Your hair on another person's head. Your clothes covering another's body. Your body language belongs to someone else.
I finally read that book. My ex after you loved it, too.
As her angelic voice read, I was transported back to you. You took your looks straight from the words. You tried to play your life like a movie, using the chapters for any sort of direction.
I've lifted my blindfold, and now I know just how ordinary you actually are
