S'vam Theocracy
Northgard Complex

At the hidden military base in the northern theocracy, amidst a landscape filled with snow and desolation, a large control tower and dozens of missile silos dotted the landscape. Inside the control tower of the Northgard Missile complex, several Annonrial officials stood talking with their higher-ups at the cardinal seats of the theocracy.

"Cardinals, we already have the launch codes. The northern-controlled regions of ASEAN in southern Philades and their allies in the east duro will experience a shock they've never seen before."

The Cardinals in the projection nodded in response, seemingly satisfied with the results. "The 14th field army has been on standby. You shall have the honor of drawing the first blood. Once the initial shock is established, our army shall blitz all the way to the shores of Esthirant, where the armies of ASEAN will be destroyed." Smiles and grins filled the room as the Annonrials envisioned the euphoria of battles and the merits they would harvest once they defeated their enemies in the campaign.

"Affirmative, southern Philades shall be burned to ash." The commander of Northgard, Heizin, affirmed, a human winged folk hybrid, and the communication was cut off immediately.

"Commander, what to target?"

"All the lands along the southern Philades border with Nurzaga."

"It might be friendly fire," the subordinate said, pointing out lines of Nurzaga concentration along the border, fearing potential collateral damage.

"Who said we're friends with these lowlives? Those who betray their civilization and race for pitiful reasons are a danger on our side. Their foolishness is immeasurable after all," he said and marked several border towns near the vicinity of marked concentrations of army units of Nurzaga.

"It's also to reduce potential enemies and incompetent allies," he said with an ominous smile as the subordinate shrugged off his comments.

In the Territorial Defense Group, specifically the 1857th outpost located at the Nurzaga-Southern Philades border, there was the 53rd Territorial Defense Regiment. A rare unit in TDGs, which mostly composed of battalions, it had recently been reorganized, merging five battalions and fresh recruits to create a 2,000-strong regiment. It was one of the fully activated regiments created and deployed by ASEAN at the border.

Nonetheless, their standards still included rifled muskets, old or reproduced woodland BDUs, and some digital camos reserved for officials and specialized units. They had three dozen trucks and a dozen machine gun-armed Toyota pickups. Their outpost was a mix of concrete and sandbags housings surrounded by barbed wires, forming the garrison's defensive structure. Recently, they also acquired two 81mm mortars, certifying their outpost to function as a pseudo firebase in case of emergencies.

"400th and 572nd TDGs have been relocated within the border of southern Philades. Our remaining communities in Nurzaga are being ordered to immediately move to Duro and allied countries. Furthermore, ASEAN has approved additional weapon shipments to our frontline units, but no major SEADF units are being deployed. The majority of them are concentrated in southern Philades and Esthirant," an officer reported to the meeting of several high-ranking TDGs officials, mostly Hanson affiliated groups, remaining pro-imperials that aligned with Remille. They had been suspiciously ordered to relocate and armed, followed by the withdrawal of several peacekeeping units of SEADF, who originally led them or guarded the border itself. Even the staple noise of helicopters patrolling the area a few months ago ceased to exist.

By the end of ASEAN-Parpaldian War, the Southeast Asians originally capitalized on Parpaldia's fractured ethnicity and groups to maintain control. They utilized Remille's private army to police several newly independent countries, arming them to protect themselves from discrimination. Furthermore, these auxiliaries became a staple force multiplier—loyal and willing to fight for their people and community, making them easy to control for ASEAN. With the ever-increasing tension in Philades, ASEAN supplied old, reproduced, and perhaps repaired weapons to TDGs in anticipation of war. From trucks to mortars and machine guns, TDGs, mostly from Hanson communities, became an increasingly modern and powerful paramilitary force in the new world.
