As a child who grew up inside the white room, I ultimately ended up living under conditions that some may describe as beyond human.

Like everyone else in that facility, I was taught many subjects, from the materialized, like biology, to the abstract, like philosophy, and ultimately gained an insurmountable amount of knowledge as a young child.

My achievements are stored somewhere inside that facility as data.

And inside a setting like that, it was the ability that rightfully had the loudest voice.

Everyone is given equal chances, and those who utilize the most of them are the ones to advance. Those who fell behind are considered to have missed their chances, and, in all cases, would drop out.

That's exactly what occurred in the fourth generation, where I became the only subject of interest. Naturally, I received personalized training based on my progress.

The personalized things I was taught were things that other generations would eventually reach; my knowledge is as accessible as everybody else under the white ceiling.

However, I was taught something that wasn't shown to anyone else inside the white room. A principle, let's call it, was taught to me by none other than that man.

'Those who have power and refuse to use it is the behavior of a fool.'

I was told this exact line when I attempted to disrupt the harmony of the white room's curriculum by scoring the bare minimum. But I was promptly figured out.

I found that idea fascinating because it subtly resembled one of the biblical teachings, which translates to "Those who have weapons and know how to use them but keep them sheathed will inherit the earth," yet with some core distinctions.

Both spoke about power and differentiated on how it should be used.

The latter urged people to be moralistic about their power, for they are capable of causing immense harm. The former was about using the power's full extent, for it would be a fool's errand to waste it.

Both parties care about different things, so judging should be left to each individual. However, a fine line could be drawn between these two ideals.

"Those who are capable of playing the fool will inherit the earth."

And it doesn't sound far-fetched from reality.

Bzzt Bzzt.

I watched as my tablet vibrated beside me, receiving a new notification right as the time hit 7 o'clock. I picked it up and pressed the power button to check its content.

Looks like I'm in luck.

I stood up and moved a few meters down West, I needn't move any further for my score to update itself to 52 through the early bird bonus.

I wonder if the exam will go as easy as this.

However, I immediately identified this as a form of wishful thinking and ultimately brushed it off; after all, confronting the chaos and what it entails is assuredly inevitable.

Somewhere on the island, far away from Ayanokouji's location.

Away from prying eyes, a serious confrontation occurred between two individuals of polar personalities.

"At least I don't go around carrying a stupid fucking pink hair." Ryuuen, with one hand holding his chin that was carrying a devious grin, spoke out with intent.

"At least I don't beat people up just to show I'm not worthless." Ichinose, with a confident, smug smile and unshakable stare, replied with similar intent.
