Chapter-65

Author's POV:

Riccardo sat on the balcony, looking at the main gate of the Palace, even when she left hours ago. His mind was burning down in pain and anger. He felt frustration, and he felt everything was taken from him.

His love to his children, he felt like he lost everything.....

He got to know about them and he lost them on the same day. He couldn't stop her. He was ready to beg her. If needed, he was ready to put force, too.

But her words made him stop. This place was not safe for her anymore. Her own home was not safe for her.

He was holding a drink, but he couldn't take a sip out of it. He knew that won't ease it.

He found his happiness, and greedy people made sure to strip him off it, too.

Her tears, her fear, and her pain stained his mind. Now he felt anger, like he was wronged. He was stolen of his right to care for his wife and unborn child. Now, his home was filled with people who would never miss a chance to kill him, and the only person he cared for was not there anymore.

She walked away empty-handed, her eyes telling her pain to him. He understood but couldn't say anything. When did Riccardo Valentine become so useless? He thought.

He kept repeating the days before fire, he remembered how Cherish changed?

From her not wearing heels to those oversized clothes..... her change in behavior... Like she was hiding something....

She knew it already. She knew she was pregnant from the start, and Riccardo figured it out. He knew the truth was hidden from him. He was kept away from it..... Why?

Did she not trust him?

Then, the events started to play in his mind. Those hospital visits were not of Jasmine but Cherish.

Riley tried to kill his wife and burn her alive. As it was not angering him enough, he realized he could have lost his wife as well as children too. Riley tried to push Cherish off the stairs... They wanted her dead....

Will he let that happen?

A few more hours passed, and he locked himself in the same room, moving to the window looking outside, but his mind was roaming to find her already.

He heard a feminine voice. He knew it was Riley, and he pocked his hand, preferring to be silent.

Riley, who couldn't get enough of her victory, walked the room smiling and so proud of herself that heavens appeared useless to her.

Cherish was gone, she left.... What else does Riley need?

She had everything she ever wanted, and she didn't feel inferior anyhow. Her cunning mind was now just longing for the power Riccardo had. That's the only thing left for her to achieve.

Riley said, walking to Riccardo, "Today's weather is so nice...." While his mind was covered in storm, his silent face got darker and darker in anger.

Riley said, "I am so happy.... So... So happy...."

He stayed like he was carved on stone, She said, "Finally, Sara resigned.... and left.... She was annoying..."

Riccardo looked at her, Riley sat near him, on the arm rest of the couch, and she said, "She troubled you a lot.... right? Like she didn't get what to tell her?"

Riccardo said, "Seemed like she never understood my words...."

She tangled her hand around his shoulder, and she said, "I know... You are unwell, and she became an extra headache...."
