It was noon on the highway again but this time I was dragging a foot behind me.
The sun was starting to set and the highway signs said that we were headed towards Kentucky.
Only 2 more states counting Kentucky, to cross.
Every hour or so we would see one car or two.
"You holding up okay?", Anna asked.
"Yea, but right when it starts to get dark we find camp, not near the infected", I said.
"Roger that", Anna said.
Alexander and Mike started to sing the song 99 bottles of milk on the wall, 99 bottles of milk on the wall. Soon we all started singing. Boy, did we stink at singing. My dry throat made my voice crack. About 2 hours pasted and soon the sun soon started to disappear.
"Ava, you see any where to sleep for now", I asked her.
Ava scared the signs on the highway and the pointed at a sign reading" Kentucky Star City",.
"Good work", I said.
Mike was soon right next to me.
"How are you doing Maddie?", he asked.
"Fine, and you?", I asked.
"Good, I was wondering if you would umm, want to go on a date with me",.
"Where?",.
"Oh I mean if I asked would you say yes",.
I blushed.
"Umm I don't know",.
"I will give you some time to think about it",. "I'm sorry I asked",.
He ran to the back of the group.
Wow, the guy really liked me.
