"ANSWER THE QUESTION!"
Todo leaped over a meter, his fist aimed straight at (Y/N). The intensity in his eyes showing his determination to land a hit.
(Y/N) smiled as he met Todo in the air and grabbed the incoming punch with one hand. Using the momentum, he shifted his body and delivered a powerful elbow strike, sending Todo crashing down to the ground.
Todo hit the ground hard, the impact reverberating through the training area.
And as the dust settled, he touched his nose and saw blood on his fingertips.
"Wanna take a break, Aoi?" (Y/N) asked, landing back on the grassy ground.
He was in his element, training his students in martial arts and physical combat. Today's lesson was particularly hands-on, with everyone dressed in tracksuits, ready for an intense session. This was where (Y/N) truly excelled, sharing his vast knowledge and occasionally allowing himself to let loose sometimes.
The training ground already bored the marks of their session—patches of grass ripped out, craters in the ground.
On the sidelines, Noritoshi and Nishimiya lay on the ground, exhausted and drenched in sweat. They had already finished their lesson, each bearing bruises and scrapes. Despite their best efforts, they couldn't land a single hit on their teacher. Continuing would only lead to further exhaustion and likely more injuries.
Todo, however, was different.
He wiped the blood from his nose and took off his tracksuit jacket, revealing his muscular frame.
"Not done yet!"
He declared, pure stubbornness driving him forward.
(Y/N) nodded.
"Alright then, show me what you've got."
Todo charged again and swung with everything he had, aiming for (Y/N)'s head. (Y/N) dodged effortlessly, stepping aside and countering with a quick jab to Todo's side.
The blow landed squarely, but Todo took it head-on. Flinching slightly, he smiled and asked.
"You remember our promise, right? If I land a Black Flash on you, you'll finally answer my question!" Todo reminded (Y/N).
"Yeah yeah."
(Y/N) replied with nonchalance, though a hint of pride shone in his eyes. He admired his student's tenacity, even if it stemmed from something trivial.
Todo then pivoted and aimed a kick at (Y/N)'s midsection. (Y/N) blocked it with his forearm, using the force to push Todo back slightly.
Todo closed the distance again, lifting one leg in the air for another powerful kick. However, (Y/N) ducked and swept the ground, hitting Todo's supporting leg and sending him tumbling.
"Yuki Tsukumo really trained you well, however..."
(Y/N) remarked as Todo used his hands to spring back up.
Todo launched a swift combo of a jab and a straight punch, but (Y/N) redirected the blows, maneuvering around to Todo's back.
"You're overconfident in your skills!"
(Y/N) said, grabbing Todo by the back and ankle and literally lifting him into the air before slamming him down hard.
"Big guys like you tend to leave too many openings. Keep your center of gravity low and anticipate the counters more."
(Y/N) advised as he walked over to Todo.
Todo quietly got back up, his breathing heavy but controlled.
"Let me use my cursed technique... I already know that weakness of mine, and how I cover it is with my Boogie Woogie-"
"Nope! Just using these today!" (Y/N) said, pointing to his hands and then his legs.
Todo clicked his mouth in frustration but accepted the challenge. He got into his fighting stance once more. "Alright then, Sensei..."
Cursed energy aura began enveloping his arms.
"One more round."
(Y/N) smirked at the response, getting into his own stance.
"Bring it on, kiddo."
"Todo! Your alarm for Takada's guest appearance in a variety show went off."
From the sidelines, Nishimya called out.
In a flash, Todo sprinted towards his belongings.
"See you all tomorrow."
And in another instant, he dashed back to his dorm with his gear, leaving nothing but a blur behind.
(Y/N) stood there, feeling a bit like a solitary tree swaying in the wind, his face frozen in a perplexed expression.
"What should I do with that guy..."
He muttered quietly, shaking his head as he walked back too.
"Well, class dismissed. Enjoy your evening, guys." (Y/N) announced to his remaining students, collecting his belongings and heading up the grassy patch.
"Thank you for your teaching today, Sensei. Hope you enjoy yours as well," Noritoshi said, bowing slightly, ever the polite one.
(Y/N) waved his hand in acknowledgment without looking back and left the training ground, his mind already shifting gears.
As he walked back to the campus, he saw Utahime emerging from one of the buildings, a student supervisor and now his co-worker.
She spotted him and quickly approached, her eyes filled with a mix of confusion and curiosity.
"Hey, Utahime—"
"Ah! (Y/N)!" Utahime interrupted, hurrying over.
"I was going to ask if we can go together, but... From your attire right now... You forgot, didn't you..?"
"Hmm?" (Y/N) tilted his head innocently, implying he has no clue.
Utahime sighed slightly, pulling out her phone and showing him her calendar app.
On today's date, it was marked with the words:
"Hamamatsu after-work gathering."
"Oh!" (Y/N) snapped his fingers as the realization hit him.
It was the annual drinking party that the staff of the Kyoto and Tokyo Jujutsu schools had, usually held at a midway point between the two cities like Nagoya or Hamamatsu.
(Y/N) then finally noticed that Utahime wasn't in her usual miko outfit, but her day-off clothes.
