"Class dismissed." pahayag ng guro.

Kaswal na nag-ayos ng gamit ang mga kaklase ni Elisse at lumabas ng classroom. Pero hindi maiiwasan na may ilan sa mga pa ito ang gumagamit ng kakaibang bilis nila para makaalis agad. She smiled and shook her head. Vampires inside the premises are allowed to use their speed except for their gifts unless deemed necessary.

Elisse decided to call their attributes as gifts for the reason that their power wasn't something you always see ─ and she's pertaining to ordinary people.

In the short span of time that she was staying in this school, she slowly got used to it, seeing vampires everywhere. Nasanay na siyang dumadaan ang mga ito na parang hangin kapag ginagamit nila ang kanilang abilidad.

Hindi na rin naman masama na napadpad siya rito. She's starting to believe that she was truly destined to be in this university. Natuto na rin naman siyang mag-adjust at isa pa, nalaman niya na hindi naman pala sila masama.

She was being treated normally, everyone was nice to her ─ even nicer than her previous classmates. Kahit na sinabi dati ni Adrienne na facade lang ang pagiging tao niya. She tried to message her mother, Rain, to confirm the truth about her nature but she received no response. Ang pinanghahawakan na lang niya ngayon ay ang mga pinaalam sa kanya.

Napabuntong-hininga na lang si Elisse, hindi mapigilang mapaisip. All this time she thought she knew herself, but it wasn't. If she's no different from Adrienne and the others, then were her parents both vampires? She didn't know.

But her main dilemma was the prophecy they were talking about ─ that she was the one, and the fact that she had a vision from what happened in the past didn't help. It was only justifying their truth.

Hindi nagtagal ay lumabas na rin siya ng silid. Napangiti na lang si Elisse nang makita si Asha sa labas na naghihintay. Mabilis siyang naglakad at binigyan ito ng mahigpit na yakap. "Asha!"

Her best friend chuckled and patted her head with gentleness. "Excited ka yatang makita ako. Miss mo 'ko, ano?"

She parted from the hug and nodded, which Asha returned with a smile. Ngayon lang kasi ulit nakita ni Elisse ang kaibigan simula nang kunin ito Diamond.

Maraming araw na rin ang lumipas. She's so glad that her best friend was still here. Nagsimula na rin silang maglakad habang nagkukuwentuhan, humahabol sa mga araw na hindi nakapag-usap. She honestly missed her.

"Kamusta si Mama bago ka pumunta rito?" she asked. She's always thinking about her mother, wondering what she's doing, whether she's eating on time, everything about her.

"She's doing good, Elisse." Humarap ang kaibigan sa kanya at ngumiti ng tipid. "Huwag kang mag-alala, she can handle herself."

"I know." She nodded. "I just miss her so much."

"Miss ka na rin niya, I'm sure."

They were embraced by silence and it was a comfortable one.

Marami siyang gustong itanong dito kahit naipaliwanag na ng ibang tao ang sitwasyon niya. She's worried about the things that might happen. Elisse realized that wherever she was, she's not safe ─ no one's safe. And she wanted to be with her mother at least.

"Anong iniisip mo?" Asha unabashedly smiled at her. "Ako iniisip mo?"

Natawa si Elisse at pinalo ang kasama sa braso. "Si Mama ang iniisip ko."

"Sayang naman." Asha pursed her lips and battered her eyes as if pretending to look sad but laughed afterwards. Elisse shook her head with a chuckle.

Pumasok sa isipan niya si Diamond ─ Asha was a vampire just like the others. And there's a question forming in her head that only her best friend could answer. "Asha."
