*First person pov*

"Hey Daddy?" I snap back into reality and look at Keiko. "Yes?" I ask. "Keiko doesn't understand what the old man is saying. But what Keiko is wondering, is true strength actually born from life-risking battles?" Keiko asks. I shake my head. "No, that is not true strength. True strength is the will to see another tomorrow, and to see the people that you are fighting for, do you understand?" I ask. She nods. "Yes! Keiko understands!" Keiko beamed. I smile and ruffle her fur. "Good." I say. After Grandpa finished his long ass speech on his opinion, which is absolute shit, of true strength. Then out of nowhere, a wild Hayate appeared. "From here on, as referee, will you please allow me to explain the third test?" Hayate asks. Grandpa nods. "By all means." Grandpa confirms. Hayate gets up off of his knee and turns to us. "Hello everyone, I'm Gekkou Hayate. Umm, before the third test... *Cough* *Cough* ... there is something I like you to do. Ummm, It's a preliminary for the third test to decide who gets to participate in the main event *Cough* *Cough*." Hayate says, coughing a little. "Preliminary?! What do you mean?!" Shikamaru says. "Sensei... I don't understand this preliminary but... why aren't all the people allowed to participate in the next test?" Pinky asks. "Umm, because the first and second test this year is a bit too easy *Cough* *Cough*. We have a bit too many people remaining *Cough*. According to the chunin exam rules, we must have a preliminary and *Cough* *Cough* reduce the numbers of the participants for the third test. As Hokage-sama indicated earlier, there will be many guests at the third test. So the fights could take too long, and we are limited in time. *Cough* *Cough*" Hayate says. "No way...." Pinky says solemnly. "Umm, so those of you not feeling well, step forward. We are starting the preliminary now." Hayate says. "What?! Right now!?" Kiba says. After a long moment of silence, Kabuto raises his hand. "Umm, I'm going to quit." Kabuto says. "Huh?! Kabuto-san?!" Naruto yells. "Ummm, you're Yakushi Kabuto-kun from leaf, right? You may now leave. Umm, does anyone else want to retire? Oh, I forgot to tell you that from here on out it is individual battling. You may raise your hand based on your own judgement." Hayate says. "Kabuto-san, why are you quitting?!" Naruto yells. "I'm sorry, Naruto-kun, I'm beat up. Actually, I haven't been able to hear out of left ear since the sound nin attacked me before the 1st exam started. And the thought that I might die... I just..." Kabuto trails off. Kabuto started talking to his teammates then left. "Umm, are there any more?" Hayate asks. Duckbutt grunts in pain and holds his shoulder where the mark was. Wait, I'm not supposed to know about the mark. "Daddy, is guy going to be alright? Keiko is worried for Daddy's friends." Keiko asks. I smile at her. "He's going to be just fine. I promise." I says. She looks unsure and looks at the Duckbutt. "Sasuke-kun! You should also quit the prelim! You have been strange since the orochimaru guy attacked you. That mark still hurts right?! If you continue..! Please, please... quit... I'm afraid. You are no condition to fight right now!! I can see it!! You have been hiding the pain all this time!!" Pinky yells, in tears near the end. Duckbutt looked like he doesn't want to take this shit. "Be quiet." Duckbutt says. "Whatever you say, I'm telling sensei about the mark." Pinky says and starts raising her hand, but Duckbutt stops her. "Shut up about the mark." Duckbutt growls. Pinky cries harder. "Why are you so stubborn?! I don't want to see you suffering, to me you are...." Pinky trails off. "This has nothing to do with you. Stay out of my business." Duckbutt says coldly. "Sakura, I have told you before. I am an avenger. This isn't just a test to me. I don't care about chunin or whatever. 'Am I strong?' I just want to answer that. To just fight the strong guys here... and they are here. I can't forgive you, if you take that away from me." Duckbutt says. "You bastard!! Stop acting so cool!! Idiot!!! Sakura-chan is this worried and-" Naruto says, done with Duckbutt's shit, but gets cut off by Duckbutt. "Naruto, I also want to fight you." Duckbutt says, silencing him. He turns to me. "Ciel, I also want to fight you too." He says to me. I flinch as he stares at me. "Nah, I'm good. I don't really want to fight a stubborn, emo, Duckbutt. Plus you got that shari-shoo thing and I don't want to mess with that." I say, waving him off. Keiko mimics me. "Umm, now let's begin the preliminary." Hayate says.
