First impression: Wow, a werewolf story...

I don't read werewolf stories, I'm not aware of werewolf lore, but that's okay. I'll learn from this story. Right? Right????

Cover: Uuuh, nifty and shiny! Looks so good... wait, where's the "Me" in the title? Is it the Devil inside or The Devil inside me? Is that an infinity mark? Eh, still nifty.

Cover rating: Eye catching

Blurb: Wait, I said I wouldn't do blurbs. Yes, but this one has grammar errors in it, so you're doing blurbs. Oh, okay then, I'm doing blurbs.

The content itself... can't make out much about the story, but the first phrase promising a save-myself kind of female lead sounds... well, promising.

Blurb rating: Fix your grammar

Let's get it on!

Second impression: Wow, a werewolf story without any actual werewolves

Plot:

It starts off nicely with the girl trapped by an abusive step parent, forced to be a submissive. On the outside, she's given up. On the inside, she plots. I liked how she stayed a strong character and took the time to plan everything out.

What I don't get is what she was actually planning. She got out because she got lucky, but all the plotting wasn't based on luck or outside help, which she got. So... um, what were you actually trying to do? Grow nails long enough to kill the guy (though I have a feeling he actually kept her from growing nails)? Transform and bite his ass, even if you thought you'd never shift? All your plotting confuses me!

And once you go out... what's your plan? To get a job?? Really? Not once do you think about actually trying to shift. Don't you think that would make things a tad easier? Good thing you found Sam. *shakes head*

I want to see where the story goes from here.

Plot rating: Not too shabby

Characters:

Arya - don't excuse yourself for using the name. It's not like GRR Martin has a trademark on it (yet). I bet there are other Aryas out there.

Redhead, green eyes, beautiful. Awww.... how sweet. A little monster underneath - yeah, I actually liked that. Like her strength of character. And even if she lets herself be a rag doll, her mind still goes places, it's still strong. So I actually like her. She's usually smart, even if sometimes she has all the foresight of a rock. (where were you going without food, smartass?)

Abusive asshole - creepy and abusive as fuck. I would so kick him in the nuts, so I guess you did a good job with him, too. His mystery is left to be solved.

Clara: *spoilers* she's dead!!! OMG, why! Honestly, she appeared too little for me to go *gasp* when she died, but it helped make abusive asshole even creepier. I didn't really understand what her relationship with him was.

Sam: Yay for Sam. Kinda hard to read what he says, but I get the gist. Like him, he seems awesome.

Dogs: Yay for dogs!

Character rating: Awesome shit!

Why I stopped reading: This is taking too freaking long because the book is freaking long, but I'll add it to a list to later read for pleasure. (unless you hire me to be your editor, then I'll read it as I edit). So yes, you get the honor to be on the to-read list :)

Grade: You passed. Congratulations! You survived a brutal review, you may add the [I survived the most BRUTAL review] thingie to your blurb!
