Warning: Offensive content that has nothing to do with this story, because I'm crazy.

AuthorChapterSeven

Genre: Science Fiction

No. chapters read: 4

First impression: This is confusing as fuck!

Cover: I... I'm still staring at it trying to come up with something witty to say. It's a nice cover. I like the image, the blood in the back the fonts and the subtitle.  But does it fit the story? I don't know! *runs away crying*

It kinda screams Teen Fiction instead of sci fi. The only sci fi thing is the guy with the blue hair. Though, that's not improbable for present times either.

Cover rating: Nice but... appropriate?

Blurb: It's a nice blurb, if a little confusing. But it gives info about what I assume are the main/POV characters of the story (I never got to Katherine). I think I'll just give you an nice blurb rating-- OMG, you have TYPOS in your blurb! So not cool!

*sends rabid badgers at you*

Blurb rating: fix your typos (they're in the first paragraph)

Let's get it on!

Second impression: This is psychedelic in a good way.

Actual review (drum roll please):

Language/Writing: It's so much cleaner than when I first read this for a book club. Which is lucky for you, since I would've stopped much earlier otherwise. BTW, I reread the first 3 parts because I could only vaguely remember what the hell was going on.

You do have some grammar mistakes, especially in the form of inverted words. You're not native English either, are you? Wow, we're a shocking majority (so minority suffers, damn it!)

So yeah, though your word choice, phrasing, punctuation is actually pretty good, I'm still sending you to clean your prose.

Note: I wanted to insert a Hitler meme since I'm such a grammar Nazi, but then I realized I might just get freaking reported and everyone will hate me because my sense of humor is totally fucked up, and what I find funny, others might find offensive.

So just imagine the most offensive Hitler meme you can and thank me for not using it.

Language rating: Needs a shower (yes, I'm still making terrible holocaust jokes. Don't hate me. I'm under no circumstances xenophobic or anything-phobic. I don't have anything against any race/ethnicity/gender in particular. I hate everybody.)* (again, sensitive people, this is just a joke).

Plot: The plot revolves around the world which revolves around the sci fi concept which revolves around... you know what? My head is spinning, so I'll stop with all the revolving.

I'm glad I actually read one extra chapter so that I could get to the part where this whole freaking Territory thing is explained. I do feel like you kinda skimmed the uselessness of the Third Territory (that's us). Why do they have anything that's irrelevant? Why is it irrelevant? Because, apparently, the other territories are either slaves/workers or the people who are being served. So... why the useless middle?

Other then that, we meet Theo, a girl who has memory losses and unintentionally runs away from home all the time. She becomes irrelevant, so she's sentenced to the first territory which... kinda blows up as soon as she gets there and bam! no more Theo.

Then we jump one year later with Elijah and his shenanigans. Since no one knows why the first territory which was full of slaves blows up, I'm interested to find out what the hell happened.

Plot rating: Original

Characters:

Theo: is the girl who wants to do better, but just doesn't. So she's so very relatable. She also has blackouts and goes missing for days and wakes up in weird places. She's taking it pretty well. I like her. Only that she kinda, possibly blew up in the first two chapters. I enjoyed her voice. It was one of those absurd, funny experiences.

Elijah: I like him. He's curious and unafraid to speak his mind and call out the bullshit. And he gets detention for it. I'm a big fan of him.

Xavier: tries to relocate people, survives massive explosion because reasons (???) and goes slightly mad/secretive/lobster. I would like to see more of him.

People in the van with Theo: Are most likely dead.

Riley: Loves One Direction *throws carrots at her*

Theo's adoptive parents: Love her on paper.

Any other characters: appeared too little for me to care right now.

Character rating: interesting.

Why I stopped reading: Because I made up my mind about the story. I'll be reading more of it for sure since we're in a book club together, so I think I'll just stop here for now and write this marvelous review full of offensive content (don't hate me! And if you do, I DON'T CARE!)

Grade: Pass. Though it needs a little editing, the story is interesting and unlike most of the stuff I've read so far, so yay for you!

Song: I just feel like it really fits. You're welcome!
