Chapter 22; Emergancy basement

"C'mon Felix you have to go into the emergency basement until we figure out what's going on" Mitch said to Felix who was standing there frozen staring at the door
"Everyone else is in there" Casey said trying to make Felix feel better
"Yeah you have the Melody girl" Mitch said
Felix slowly starts to shake his head
"C'mon you have to obey Jordan's orders" Mitch said starting to get mad
"I- I can't" Felix said holding his head in his hands
"Yes you can! It's just a basement! Jacob isn't here to push you in, it's just us!" Casey said
"We might end up pushing you in if you don't go in yourself pretty soon" Mitch said crossing his arms
A muffled noise escaped Felix's mouth
"GO!" Mitch yelled
"Uhh I can do this.." Felix said to himself as he took the first stair down
Felix went to take another but slipped and ended up falling down the stairs
Everyone turned around to see a blank faced Felix at the bottom of the stairs
"Heh..heheheh..." Felix said starting to laugh
"He's going mad" Mitch said pointing at Felix who is now laughing really hard
"Maybe we should take him to the infirmary real quick" Casey said looking at Felix in concern
Felix stood up and brushed himself off
"Felix?" Ella asked
"Yeah?" Felix answered
"You okay?" Ella asked
"Yeah I'm fine" Felix said as he looked around the basement
"Went a little crazy there huh?" Mitch said
"No.. I just started laughing at everyone's faces from after I fell" Felix said beginning to laugh again
"So you're okay with basements now?" Melody asked
"Uh.. Sorta" Felix replied looking at the stairs
Felix walks over and sits next to Jace and Zoey
"Alright everyone, stay here, we are going to find out what's going on with the other side" Mitch said as he started to close the door
Everyone sat there in silence after a while
"Well I'm gonna go to sleep, it's getting late" Jace said as he started to unravel his sleeping bag and pillow
"Yeah me too" Felix said agreeing as he started to unravel his
Everyone starts getting ready for bed until Carly comes
"Alright everyone, you will be let out of the emergency basement tomorrow morning" Carly tells them
"This was just a warning, but we're still not sure" Carly said
"Where's my brother?" Zoey asked
"Jordan? He's up in his cabin doing very important things" Carly replied
"No my other brother, Joey" Zoey said correcting her
"Oh, Joey is with Jordan, we are keeping him with us because we don't trust him with you guys" Carly said
"He's better now! He's good!" Zoey said
"Yeah, and even if he tries to attack, it's 6 against 1" Jace said backing Zoey up
Zoey smiled at him
"Alright, I'll ask Jordan" Carly said knowing already that the answer will be a "no"

"I don't know.." Jordan said as he looked at Joey
"Is he really good?" Carly said not believing a word Joey says
"Yeah, how do we know he's not lying?" Casey asked
"I know my brother, he wouldn't lie to me, and look! His eyes are more brown than they were since he first came" Jordan said looking at Joey who was sitting outside pulling petals off a flower, he wasn't lying, his eyes are more brown than before, but not completely
"So do you want us to send him down?" Mitch asked
"You can try it, besides there's more of them than him, even though he's really strong there's no way he would be able to take them all down" Jordan says still watching Joey
"Alright, I'll bring him down" Mitch said
"I'll come too" Carly says
"Careful Carly, he's strong, sometimes he tries to escape when Mitch and I are with him and we even have some trouble" Casey said concerned
"That's because he's with you, you know I'm stronger than you" Carly says winking as she walks off
"So how long have you guys been dating again?" Jordan asked Casey
"Next month will be our two year anniversary" Casey said as he watched her walk off her blonde hair in a high ponytail

"Alright we will be leaving you with Joey, Jordan has decided that he is okay to be left with you guys" Carly said while next to Joey who is taller than her, she's pretty short
"Yay!" Zoey said as she ran over to hug her brother
Oh god
Joey quickly presses a button that's on a remote in his pocket
The sound of a car alarm goes off everyone plugs their ears and some people scream
Joey stands there like the sound is nothing and then presses it again which makes it stop
"Oww.." Zoey said still plugging her ears
"Don't touch me" Joey said as he walked over to the corner of the room that no one was at and put his back to the wall and slid down
"Okay.." Mitch said
"Here" Carly says as she tosses a purple spray can to Zoey
"Just in case something happens" Carly says as they walk off
Everyone stays silent and then looks as Joey
"What?!" Joey said his eyes flash red
"I thought you said you were good" Jace said
Joey rolled his eyes and went on his phone
"Hey! I thought you got that taken away!" Ella said pointing to his phone
"I stole it back, so what?" Joey says back his eyes still red
Mackenzie taps on her shoulder and whispers in her ear
"I wouldn't start anything with him, you saw how strong he was, he was probably trained to kill"
"Yeah.." Ella said
"You know I can hear you right?" Joey says from across the room staring directly at them
Mackenzie and Ella both turn red from being caught
Joey smiles at their red faces his eyes flash brown

"Felix what are you doing?" Jace asked as he was lying in his sleeping bag, they both gave up on sleeping. The alarm woke them up so they can't sleep anymore
"Texting someone.." Felix said hiding his phone so no one can see
"Who are you texting? Is it Melody?" Jace asked
Felix gave him a "really" face
"Who is it??" Jace asked this time serious
"Alright, promise you won't tell anyone?" Felix said whispering, the others were talking so they couldn't hear them
"I promise" Jace said
"I'm texting one of my old friends, her name is Avia" Felix said as quietly as possible
"Dude! You're not supposed to contact or talk to anyone from your old life!" Jace whisper yelled
"I know I know! But she's my best friend since kindergarten" Felix said looking down
"I'm sorry dude... By any chance do you have a picture of her?" Jace asked
Without a word Felix pulled up a photo of him and Avia, it was taken the year before he became a spy. They were both laughing, and looked like they were having so much fun
"Back when I was a normal kid" Felix said smiling at the photo. Avia has brown hair with blonde highlights, she has blue eyes just like Felix's but lighter.
"Dude she's hot" Jace said looking at the photo
"Hey!" Felix said taking his phone back so Jace could no longer look at it
"I thought you liked Melody?" Jace asked
"I do, well I don't.. I don't know.." Felix said confused
"How do you not know if you like someone?" Jace asked
"It's more confusing than you think, specially when the person likes you back more than you like them" Felix said
"If I were you, I would date her, Melody's not too bad looking" Jace said grinning
Felix punched Jace
"Ow, I never knew you were strong" Jace said rubbing his arm
Felix rolled his eyes and went back to texting his friend
"So what are you talking about?" Jace asked
"Just stuff, she doesn't know I'm a spy, I just told her I moved" Felix said
"When I first started texting her she was so surprised and happy, she told me she thought I was dead since I wasn't answering any of her texts" Felix said
"You can't tell me that you've been friends with her and never liked her?" Jace asked
"I never said I didn't" Felix said his cheeks beginning to turn red
"Dude you're blushing!" Jace said laughing
"When did you start liking her?" Jace asked
"When I was in third grade, she was over at my house and we were playing games and what not, I still remember it.. We were outside in my treehouse, the sun was setting and I just looked at her and thought... Wow, she just looked so beautiful.. I didn't know what I was doing, I just went over and kissed her.. We were young so she thinks of it as just an experiment or that I wasn't thinking, but little did she know I was actually hardcore crushing on her, she dated other guys, while I would stand there, still being really close with her. One day in 8th grade I asked her out, she said no, because if we broke up she wouldn't want our friendship to end or become awkward, she apologized and I just said it was no big deal, but really it was" Felix said remembering
"Wow, so do you still like her?" Jace asked
"Not anymore, after she rejected me I just learned to move on" Felix said shrugging
"That's why I'm so surprised Melody likes me, I mean at of all people, I'm the lamest one!" Felix said laughing a little
"Hahaha.. So is she single?" Jace asked
"Jace!" Felix yelled
"I'm joking I'm joking!" Jace said laughing
All of a sudden Melody walked up and kissed Felix on the cheek she blushed and quickly walked away
"I can't believe you actually did it!!!" Ella said shocked
"What was that all about?"  Felix asked them blushing
"It was a dare!" Melody said covering her face to hide the blush
"It's fine! I mean at least it wasn't like mine where I had to kiss you on the lips!" Felix said laughing
"Yeah" Melody said a little hurt but brushed it off knowing that wasn't what he meant and laughed with him
Joey rolled his eyes
"What's the matter Joey? Jealous of Felix and Melody's relationship?" Ella asked teasing Joey
"Love is for the weak" Joey said as he stared at his phone not looking up
"Mmmhmm" Ella said rolling her eyes
