"FELIX?!!?" Melody shouted as she quickly stood up still holding his hand. She lets go and runs to find help, she's sees Casey, Mitch, Jordan and Carly and runs up to them.
"FELIX... HEART... STOP... BEATING" she manages to say in between breathes
"What?!" Casey says
"YOU HEARD ME, GO!! QUICKLY, GO HELP HIM!!" Melody says as she starts to cry
They run into the infirmary room and immediately get to work, taking out advanced equipment.
"NO NO, PLEASE GOD NO!! DON'T LET HIM DIE PLEASE!!!" Melody shouts as she watches them
"SOMEONE GET HER OUT OF HERE" Mitch shouts over the noise
Casey and Jordan move towards Melody and drag her out of the infirmary.
"NOO LET ME IN!" She shouts as she hits the door repeatedly, she stops and slowly slides down the door, tears rolling down her cheek.
"Melody.." Mackenzie said softly as she sat next to her, she also, have been crying.
Melody looked up and saw everyone else, who were crying.
They all got into a big group hug.
"He'll be okay.." Mackenzie said softly
"CLEAR" Mitch shouts as he uses the AED
"QUICKLY WE'RE LOOSING HIM" Carly shouts as she looks up at the screen which still has a straight line
"CLEAR" he shouts again
After about six tries they stopped.
"There's nothing we can do.. We tried.. He's gone" Mitch said as he looked down at Felix
They all stood in silence... Until something interrupted that silence..
A high pitched beeping noise
"Beep.............Beep..............Beep..............Beep.............Beep"
"YES!!" They all shouted as they hug each other, glad that they saved him.
"Did you guys hear that?" Ella asked breaking the silence that fell between all of them
"What?" Jace asked
"It sounded like.. Cheering.." Ella said confused
Mackenzie's face lit up
"Maybe they're cheering because he's alive!!" She said smiling
"You really think so?" Melody asked wiping off a tear
"Yeah, why else would they be cheering?" Zoey asked joining in
Melody smiled and hugged them all tightly.. A little too tight, until the door bursted open. They all looked up at Mitch, Casey, Jordan and Carly, they didn't seem to be happy, well not as happy as they should be, hence they just saved Felix's life.
"What's wrong?" Mackenzie asked knowing something is up by their faces.
"As you can tell Felix is alive" Jordan said
"YES!" Melody yelled, they all cheered and hugged each other
"BUT" Jordan yelled over them, they stopped to hear what he had to say.
"His heartbeat is dangerously slow for our liking" Jordan said
"Oh no" Melody said, feeling the tears, she grabbed Kenzie and hugged her
"Can we see him?" Jace asked, wanting to see his best friend.
"No, it's too soon, he needs to rest" Casey answered
"Please?" Melody asked
"No." Casey responded
"We're not leaving until we see him" Ella said joining in.
"Go to your dorms" Casey said pointing to the dorms
"We're not going" Zoey said stepping up in front of all of them
"I SAID GO!" Casey yelled, they stood their in shock, they've never heard Casey raise his voice.
They slowly turn around and start heading back to the dorms, one painful step at a time.
Jace turns left in the hallway and opens the door to the boys dormitory, while the girls go right. He sits down on his bed, and looks to the left, where Felix's bed is, he remembers all their late night talks, and all their jokes.
"Why?" Jace barely manages to say as he chokes on his tears.
"Why.." He says again as he lays his head on Felix's bed.
-later that night-
"Why did he die?" Melody asks
"Huh..?" Ella replies, half asleep, everyone else was fast asleep, so was Ella, but she's a light sleeper so she got woken up.
"Why did he die? His heart was beating perfectly fine before" Melody said
"No it wasn't, and you saw the condition he was in, I'm surprised he even survived that explosion" Ella said, getting interrupted in the middle by a yawn.
"I can't sleep.." Melody says as she stares up at the ceiling.
"You're not crying anymore, that's a start" Ella said noticing
"I'm all teared out.." Melody said, feeling like there's someone repeatedly stabbing her heart.
"It's okay he's fine" Ella said knowing Melody is still hurting on the inside
"No he's not, a-and Jordan said that his h-heart is dangerously slow!!" Melody said starting to bawl again.
"Shh, shhh, it's okay, it's okay" Ella said soothing her, she got up and hugged her.
"Everything will be alright, they have very well trained people in there that can help him.." Ella said helping her
"That's it" Melody said getting up and opening the door
"Where are you going??" Ella asked following her
"I'm going for a walk, wanna come?" She offered
"Sure.." Ella responded, a little confused on why they're going.
They start walking around the camp.
"If he.. Doesn't come out alive... We should just talk about all our good memories with him.. You know? That's one of the stages of moving on" Ella said
"You're saying he's not going to survive?!!?!" Melody asked
"No! I mean if he doesn't!" Ella said back holding up her arms
"Well.. I remember how he always loved chickens.." Melody said remembering
"Ha! How could we forget that?" Ella said smiling
"Remember when he used to have that huge crush on me?" Ella asked starting to laugh
"HE WHAT??" Melody shouted shocked, and a little hurt.
"Remember?? When I first joined??" She asked hoping Melody would remember
"Oh yeah.." She said remembering
"He really liked you..." Melody said remember how Felix used to try to flirt with Ella but fail, and how he would always stare at her.
"I remember he bought me a chicken egg and himself one too, he said that we could raise them together and they could be chicken friends" Ella said remembering
"Aww, that's so sweet of him" Melody said smiling to herself
"Yeah, until someone smashed his on him" Ella said frowning
"That was me...." Melody said cringing, she smashed his egg on purpose as a joke, but now she regrets it.
"Why doesn't he like me like he liked you?" Melody asked confused and hurt
"Probably because you were a huge jerk to him" Ella said
"I was... Ugh I feel so bad!!" She said covering her face with her hands.
"He's probably confused because one day you were mean to him and the next you were in love with him" Ella said
"Yeah.. But I guess after I saw how nice he is and how much he cares about his friends I started seeing him differently.. I looked at him more and I started noticing how he's actually really cute, and funny.." Melody said going on and on.
Ella did a gagging noise
"Hey!" Melody said
"Sorry, just that's gross" Ella said
"What could I do to make him like me?" She asked
"Maybe start being nicer to people, be less scary and mean" Ella said shrugging
"So basically to not be myself?" Melody asked
"Well not exactly, just tone it down a little bit with the punching and the getting mad easily" Ella said cringing, waiting for a punch but never got one
"I can't, that's just me" Melody said looking down
"Well then I don't think you and Felix make the greatest pair, I mean after all, he's more of the nicer quieter type, and you're more of a louder meaner type" Ella said
"Well I'm sorry, I just like to speak the truth, like how I think that shirt looks horrible on you, and I think your hair looks ridiculously gross" Melody said looking at Ella through the dark
"Well that's because I was just asleep, and you woke me up in the middle of the night" Ella said back
"It's not the middle of the night!" Melody said and checked her phone
"It's only 2:45 AM.." Melody said
"Uh huh, totally not the middle of the night" Ella said rolling her eyes
"Hey look there's the infirmary" Melody said getting an idea.
"Yeah? What about it?" Ella asks
"You're not thinking about sneaking in there and seeing him, are you?" Ella asked finally understanding
"C'mon! I'm dying to see him" Melody said
"I'm pretty sure they're having a 24/7 watch on him" Ella said doubting Melody's idea
"Let's just look through the window" Melody said as she started running quietly towards the infirmary.
Ella sighed and followed.
Melody looked through a window, it's taller than an average window would be but she manages to look through it.
She sees Casey, he's awake while sitting next to Felix, watching some kind of TV show, in the other beds hold Mitch in one bed, Carly in one, and Jordan in another.
"They must be taking shifts for who watches him and who sleeps" Ella said she is also now looking through the window
Ella might as well have said that to herself because Melody wasn't listening, she was watching Felix, and was watching his steady breathes.
"Alright c'mon lets go back" Ella said
Melody just nodded and they started to head back.
-the next day-
Mackenzie and Ella walk into the cafeteria together, they go and sit down at their usual table, which is empty.
"Where is everyone?" Ella asks as she looked around and went in line to get some food
"Well Melody is sleeping, Zoey is brushing her teeth, Jace is doing who knows what and Feli-" Mackenzie stopped what she was saying and went up to get breakfast.
They both sit down at their table
"Why don't you eat breakfast?" Ella asked as she stuffed her mouth with pancakes
"I don't like most breakfast foods, and I'm just never hungry in the morning" Mackenzie said shrugging as she took a sip of her caramel swirl iced coffee
"That's not very healthy, maybe that's why you're so tiny" Ella said looking at Mackenzie's thin body and small height.
Just then Jace and Zoey walk in, Jace looked like he was crying.
"Hey" Zoey said as she and Jace both got in line for breakfast
"Hi" Ella said from their table
"Jace is going to sit with us, cause.. You know" Zoey said not wanting to mention how he would be sitting by himself since he normally sat with Jacob, but he's gone and Felix, but he's also gone. She sat down with her tray of food, Jace sat down too.
"So did you guys happen to see Melody?" Mackenzie asked
They both shake their heads no
"Oh" Mackenzie said taking a sip from her coffee
Just then Melody walks in, she looks like a mess, her makeup is all smudged from the night before, her hair is all messy and put into a bun, and she's just wearing sweatpants and a teeshirt.
They all exchange glances, this isn't the Melody they're used to, they're used to a Melody that always wants to look nice.
Melody grabbed her breakfast and sat down
"You okay Mel?" Ella asked a little concerned
"Oh yeah I'm totally fine!" Melody said sarcastically
"Jeez sorry for asking" Ella said looking away
"Sorry, I'm just really messed up right now, as you can tell" Melody said referring to her outfit
"Hey has anyone seen Joey?" Zoey asked not seeing her brother for a long time
"Nope" Ella said shaking her head
"He's probably still mad at us" Jace said poking at his food, not eating it.
"Where is he? He must've heard the alar-" Zoey stops and her eyes go wide
"What?" Mackenzie asks looking at her face
"All of the teachers had their full attention on Felix ever since what happened... That means no one watching Joey.. And the alarms didn't sound like a fire alarm, maybe he chose that moment to escape because he felt like we would think it's a fire alarm and not just the alarm of him escaping..." Zoey said her face pale
"There's no way..." Ella said
"He's not that smart..... Is he..?" Jace said getting worried
No one says anything, they all look over to the table in the far back of the cafeteria, where Joey usually sits
"Do you really think he... Left..?" Zoey asked feeling the tears in her eyes
"I don't know..." Ella said
"I can't believe he would do that" Zoey said starting to cry
"I can, that guy is evil, no matter how hard we tried to turn him good, it never worked, he's purely evil and it's better now that he's not in our lives" Jace said
"N-no he's not!!" Zoey said while tears fall down her face
"He's good I know he is!! I can see it in his eyes!!" She said
"In his eyes? You mean his evil red ones? Because honestly I don't see any good in them" Jace spat back
Zoey storms out of the cafeteria
They all look over at Jace and give him a look
"What?! That guy is evil!!" Jace said in his defense
They shake their heads and also walk out of the cafeteria, leaving Jace behind
"You can visit him now" Casey said as he walked up to Melody, Ella and Mackenzie who were sitting by an unlit fire. Mackenzie got Melody to change out of her ridiculous outfit and put on her favorite croptop, it's a blue one with a pineapple on it. She also had her fix her makeup and do her hair.
"YES! THANK YOU!" She shouted and hugged him, she then ran towards the infirmary
She pushed open the door and saw Felix lying on the bed, no different from when she last saw him, except his heart is beating, but slowly
"Felix.." She said as she collapsed onto him, hugging him
"Thank god you're still alive" she said as she pressed her forehead to his.
"He can hear you, you know, he's listening" Ella said walking up behind her, Mackenzie next to her
Melody hugged him again, but this time holding the hug and lying her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat
"He's in a deep coma, we don't know exactly when he will wake up" A voice said behind them, they turn around and see Carly.
"I hope he wakes up soon, I miss him..." Melody said as she looked at his lifeless face
