Chapter 31; First mission

"Alright everyone, because of some difficulties" Jordan stopped to glare at Melody
Melody looked down at her desk
"We won't be in the pool" Jordan continued until he was interrupted by everyone shouting
"Yay!"
"Alright that's enough!" Mitch said quieting everyone down
"Also, happy belated birthday to our youngest SpyCamp member, Mackeznie" Jordan said looking at Mackenzie, everyone else followed his stare and looked at Kenzie
Everyone started to sing happy birthday, well, everyone except Joey, and Mackenzie who sat awkwardly not knowing what to do.
Once they finished a sigh of relief escaped Kenzie's mouth, glad that the attention was finally off of her and back to Jordan. She doesn't really enjoy attention.
"Alright everyone, we will be going to town tomorrow, this will be our first mission" Jordan said looking at everyone's excited faces
"Don't get too excited, it's not really that intense. We will be choosing some people to come with us, sadly not everyone will be coming along, we won't be needing everyone's help" Jordan said watching as everyone looked at each other
Jace raises his hand
"Yes Jace?" Jordan asked
"Yeah, um.. What exactly is the mission about?" Jace asked
"We have to find some information about The Other Side and where their headquarters is, apparently underneath a shop there is a high tech basement that has some classified information that we need, it is owned by someone from The Other Side. We will have to dress up to fool the owner into thinking we work for them." Jordan said looking at them
"That sounds awesome" Jace said
"Finally something we can do!" Zoey said smiling
Jordan frowned
"About that, Zoey, you can't go"
"Why not??" Zoey asked clearly upset
"We need people that can act, and you're not our first choice. Besides I don't know when your sword fighting skills will come in handy for this mission, sorry sis" Jordan answered
"Okay.." Zoey said looking at her desk
"So who's going?" Felix said asking the question everyone was thinking
"We are telling you tomorrow morning, but Felix, we know for sure that you're going, we need your hacking skills"  Jordan said
"Awesome" Felix said trying to hold back his smile
"You can act right?" Jordan asked
"Yup" Felix said closing his eyes and leaning back in his chair, relaxing
Jace rolled his eyes and pushed the desk behind Felix that his chair was leaning on which made Felix fall backwards
"Hey!" Felix said eyeing Jace
"Oops my hand slipped" Jace said shrugging
Felix mumbled something under his breath that no one could make out
"Alright, you guys will all train and practice your acting skills plus your normal skills, you never know what will happen. We will be coming over and watching you occasionally to help us decide on who we should bring" Jordan said
Zoey felt her heart sink. If her brother didn't say she couldn't go, she could've shown off her skills to Casey

Once school was over everyone went straight to their skills and practiced extra hard.
"It's so unfair how Jordan won't let me go on the mission!" Zoey said annoyed crossing her arms as she watched Mackenzie shoot her bow
"I know, he should at least give you a chance, but I don't think you being a horrible actor is the only reason why you can't go" Kenzie said as she shot an arrow from her bow
"What do you think it is?" Zoey asked curious to hear what else is holding her back from going on the mission
"It's probably because you're his little sister, he wants you to be safe" Mackenzie said stopping to look at Zoey
"Ugh, that's so annoying! I wish I wasn't his little sister because then I would actually be able to go on missions!" Zoey said getting annoyed at her brother
Mackenzie cringed, she didn't want to get Zoey upset
"It was just a thought! I never said it was true, but that's just my opinion" Mackenzie said going back to her bow
Casey walked by and stopped to watch Mackenzie shoot her bow, she shot the arrow and it landed perfectly in the middle. Casey smiled, wrote something on his clipboard and walked away.
"Well, I'm gonna go work on my acting skills, wanna come?" Kenzie offered as she put her bow away
"Sure why not, I have nothing else to do now that I don't need to train for anything" Zoey said still upset
Kenzie frowned and then started walking towards the girls bathroom, Zoey following close behind
They walked in to see Melody and Ella both in front of a sink looking at themselves in the mirror
"Hey" Melody said as she watched them walk in
"Hi" Kenzie said as she walks towards one of the sinks so she too, can look at the mirror, she has a little trouble seeing all of her body since she's a little too short for it.
All of the girls (except Zoey) work on their acting skills, they practice by looking in the mirror and expressing emotions, mad, sad, happy, disgusted, scared, evil, etc. They then
practice a skit with each other, that they're going to show to Jordan and the rest of the teachers.
Once they finished they went outside, it was dark, but not too dark, light enough to see people's faces.
They walked to Jordan's cabin and knocked on his door.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Jordan opened the door
"Hello ladies, is there something you need?" Jordan asked looking at all of them in turn
"Uh yes, we made a skit and we want you to watch it" Ella said
"Alright, go ahead" Jordan said

They did their little skit and Jordan applauded.
"Great job!" Jordan said as he grabbed his clipboard and wrote down some notes
"We have some ideas for who we should bring, we will tell you tomorrow morning, be prepared" Jordan said as he shut the cabin door
"Wait!" Mitch yelled as he opened the door
"CURFEW!!!" Mitch yelled as loud as he could
"Oww" Melody said rubbing her ears
Mitch slammed the door and they walked back to the dorms.
