In the throne room, Marcus approaches me as soon as I make my entry. "Lee," He murmurs. "I was wondering if we could try again with that first date?" He suggests. "Second date," I correct. "I had a great time. Liam didn't ruin it for you did he?" I ask. He looks alarmed. "No. I mean, no! Not at all. I just thought maybe we should have a date without interuptions." He sighs. I tilt his chin, like he's done to me many times.

"How are we going to have a date if they have my picture in the local papers?" I flop into a chair, sulking. "The first person who sees me will report it to the police. Then I'll be back in the home." I scowl. He sits beside me. "We'll figure something out." He reassures. Then his eyes sparkle. "Trust me. I have an idea. Meet me here at eight."

That evening, Marcus and I are sitting on a blanket on the floor in the garden, eating takeway pizza alongside a bottle of coke. It's a great place for nature. A huge fountain is in the centre, spurting water, there are huge trees which are home to several birds, but thankfully no seagulls. The grass is bright and kept short. Well attended to. "This is great," I mumble through a mouthful of Haiwian. I pick off the pineapple and put it in the carboard takeaway box.

"What are you doing?" Marcus looks at me curiously. "I leave the pineapple to last. It's my favourite. Just a habit I picked up." I shrug. He smiles. "Sweet, strange creature." He murmurs. I take a swig of coke from the bottle. "Thanks for the support," I salute. He grins. "You're so different Lee. Maybe that's what I like about you. I'm not sure." He says quietly. He looks at me.

"What do you like about me?" He leans forward, interested. "The way you talk. It's different. It's like you're from another time." I push a slice of pizza towards him. "I am from a different time. I'm more or less a thousand years old." He smiles softly. "Don't you want your pizza?" I point at the slice I'd just given him. "No thank you. I don't eat." He pushes it away. "Eat the pizza Marcus," My eyes narrow as I sense a playfight coming on. "Why should I? What will you do if I don't?" He challenges.

"This!" I throw myself on top of him, we roll across the floor, probably squishing some pizza as we go. I pull at his hair, hard. He starts to tickle me and I squeal, pushing him off. He grabs me back and we try hitting at each other, he yells, I yell, and we both keep at it. Eventually, he manages to roll me over so he's on top instead. I try throwing him off me and he smiles, amused. "You think you're so strong," He laughs and I feel a warm sensation run through me. I have never heard him laugh. Ever.

I manage to get back on top of him and pick up the slice of pizza, trying to force feed him. "Eat the fucking pizza!" I shove it in his face and he tentatively takes a bite. "Delicious," He smirks and finishes the slice. "Satisfied?" He asks. We both sit up. "Sure," I smooth down my clothes and try to fix my hair which he helps me with. "There," He murmurs. "All fixed. Handsome as ever, Mr Corvin." He smirks, sarcastically calling me Mr as he did on the day we met.

"Fuck off," I shove him and to Marcus's delight, for the first time in years, I smile. His eyes shine. "That's a lovely sight," He smiles approvingly, then he reaches forward and pulls me to lay down so my head is in his lap while he sits cross legged. I lean back, looking at the sky. "There's something we should have done." He murmurs, hands in my hair. "What?" I peer up at him. "This," He whispers, leaning down and kissing me. I reach up to stroke his hair. This may be our second kiss but I still feel as excited as I did the first time.

Again, he pushes his tongue in my mouth and my head spins. "Lee." He murmurs. He runs his hand up and down my chest, caressing me. I close my eyes and let him. He tickles me in a less torturing way along my waist. The notion makes me sleepy. He picks me up gently and looks at his watch. "Is 9:30 too early for you to go to bed?" He asks. "No, I'm fine, let's go." He carries me bridal style back to my room. I hook my arms around his neck, cuddling close. "I thought you didn't like affection," He teases.

In my bedroom, he eases me onto the bed, before kneeling down and untying my shoes then pulls each one off. "Shall I undress you?" He asks, eyes glowing. I shrug. "Clothes are in there," I point to the chest of drawers. "I couldn't imagine them being anywhere else, Lee." He jokes, opening the drawers. "Pyjamas are in the last drawer, Demetri did it." I murmur.

He comes over with my spider man pyjamas. "What's this?" He holds them up. "Spiderman, he's a superhero, had them for a while now." I lay them beside me. He looks down at me, I'm still wearing my demin shorts and stripy t shirt. "You look like a sailor," He chuckles. "All you need now is a hat," He runs his hand through my hair. He slowly peels off my t shirt, leaving it on my armchair. He runs his hands up and down my chest, gently tracing over my scars. "Your scars are still fading," He murmurs. "I know. I only had the masectomy last year,"

He strokes the scars gently. "They'll heal." He smiles at me. He undoes the button of my shorts, before reaching behind and running his hands over my backside through my boxers, removing my shorts as he goes. He puts them to the side before staring at me, giving me some sort of brief evaluation. "You're such a handsome creature, Lee Corvin." He smiles.

He sits back so I can put on my pyjamas, then pulls back the covers and tucks me in like a five year old. "Goodnight, Lee," He kisses my forehead. "Sleep well,"
He goes to leave. "Wait!" I sit up. "Stay with me," I beg. He freezes, looking at me, then pulls off his shoes, waistcoat and tie. He slips under the covers with me, his arm around my shoulders. I cuddle into him again, while he strokes the back of my head.

"Goodnight then, sleep well,"
"Lee, I don't sleep. I'm a vampire."
"Ok, well, fuck off then,"
"Attitude,"
"Dickhead, let me sleep."
"Of course Mr Corvin."
"Asshole."
