Standing outside Marcus's room, my fist clenched ready to knock, I stand frozen like an ice sculpture, dying to move but the nerves get the better of me.
Tapping my feet against the floor, itching to step forward and knock the door.

When it becomes clear to me that I won't be able to move, I cough a little to work up the ability to speak. I don't know why I'm so nervous. Marcus is my husband. But he upset me! He killed that poor girl! I thought Marcus would never do anything that I didn't want him to; since when are Aro's commands more important?

On the other hand, Theresa's survival would have meant the destruction of the Volturi coven. It would have been the end for us all. I could even lose Marcus, and that would be unthinkable.

Why am I so sensitive? We spoke earlier and yet I'm still nervous to see him. I eventually clear my throat and push open the door without knocking.
Marcus looks up and smiles. "Lee. Did you enjoy your..uh...McDonalds?" He asks. "Yeah," I perch on his desk, but he pulls me onto his lap like a child and cradles me, so I curl up.
"I thought it was you outside my door. I could smell your scent." He admits, playing with my hair. I turn to him. "Smell my scent? What the fuck, Marcus?"

He frowns at me. "Language, young lady. Your scent is different from the rest." He inhales deeply. "There's nothing quite like it."
"Cute." I smirk, and he slaps my arm. "Are you making fun of me?" He teases. "I haven't got time for teasing." He continues. "We have a ball to prepare for."

"What for?" I jump up to retrieve his cloak from the clothes stand. "Aro and Sulpicia's anniversary." He takes the cloak from me and peers at it quizzically. "Why do I need this?" He frowns. I stand up and shake my head. "It's a ball, Marcus. I need to buy a suit." I pull on my trainers and lace them.

"No." He says. "What?" I glance up at him. "I will buy you a suit." He smiles. "Very funny. I thought you meant I couldn't have a suit at all." I grab his car keys. "No mate of mine will buy their own clothing. I like to buy things for you." He summarises and we head to the garage.

Once in the car, we head into town and I switch on the radio. "Turn that off." He sighs. "Why have a radio in your car if you don't listen to it?" I tut but he shakes his head and presses a few buttons. "I'm talking about the genre." He explains. "Classical music is my favourite." He says, and softer music comes through the speakers.

"Really?" I raise my eyebrows at him and he sighs. "So many people misunderstand it. It's very calming, relaxing music." He concludes.

Once we arrive at the shopping centre, Marcus leads me to a posh looking designer suit shop. "No." I decide. "Much too expensive." I stand with my arms folded but he ignores my comment and drifts into the shop.

"Ass." I trail after him and arrive at the shoe section. "Shoes are the easiest thing to buy here." He explains, examining a pair curiously. "Most are black and go well with all suits." He hands a pair to me. "These will do." He saunters off while I look at the price tag.

I almost choke from surprise. "Marcus!" I hiss. "100 euros? Are you mad?" The shopping assistant frowns at my comment and gives me distasteful look. I roll my eyes at her and rush to Marcus's side. "I can afford it." He brushes it off. "Now, suits. First of all, I think you look good in blue, but it's up to you." He shrugs.

"Hmm, okay." I grab a suit at random and disappear into the changing rooms where Marcus stays patiently outside.
Just as I go to remove my t shirt, there's a clickety clack of high heels and a voice. "Ah, Marcus, there you are!"

Who the fuck? I peek around the cubicle curtain and to my dismay, it's Sulpicia. No doubt she'll be critisizing every suit I try on because of how picky she is. I step out quickly. "Sulpicia? What are you doing here?" I ask. "I'm helping you shop." She beams and I groan. "Marcus, really?" I complain to him.

"She more or less invited herself." He shrugs apologetically.

"Oh stop whining." She flashes me a smile. "Get in that cubicle and try on a suit." She pushes me in before I can object. Great.
After a while, I try on suit after suit, and according to Sulpicia, I still haven't found the right one.

Everytime I emerge wearing a different suit, she says the similar things.

"Too tight."
"Too red, why are you wearing red?!"
"No!"
"Much too 70's."
"Oh Lee, what were you thinking?"
"Oh my goodness, you are not attending my anniversary ball dressed like that!"

Eventually, I turn to Marcus. "Marcus, please, I need your opinion." I beg. "I'm going to say what I've been saying for the last half hour; you look beautiful." He compliments.

"No!" Sulpicia outbursts. "She looks too.....frumpy." She decides. She saunters to the line of suits before picking a midnight blue one. "This one. Have this one."

I pull it from her and try it on. When I emerge, she's smiling. "Much better!" She beams. "Really?" I ask, smiling.
"No, you look ridiculous." She waves her hand and I sigh and take it off.
I try on the next one. "Beautiful! But it doesn't suit you. Take it off." She sighs.

She reluctantly decides on a suit; the first one I tried on.
"Really, Sulpicia!!" I groan.
"Why? Which do you prefer?" She enquires.
"I don't know, I'm actually starting to go a bit mad!" I admit and Marcus steps in.

"I think Lee looks wonderful. Let's pay." I change back into my welcoming jeans and t shirt and stand mortified at the till when the total comes to 400 euros, which Marcus pays for it without any hesitation.

As we head out, Sulpicia stops as we pass a ladies clothes shop. "Ooh, dresses!" She exclaims, and Marcus, gladly, pulls her along. "I thought your outfit was already decided, sister." He says. "Oh it is." She nods. "But one can never have too many dresses." She looks at me.

"Not that you'd understand, Lee." She sighs disaprovingly. "Whatevs, girlfriend." I rush to Ben N Jerry's ice cream parlour. "What's this?" Sulpicia asks when she catches up to me. "Ice cream shop." I summarise.

"Marcus, can I buy some please?" I bat my eyelids at him. "It would be more attractive if you were wearing mascara." He jokes then hands me his credit card. I reach up and kiss him.

In the end, I buy a tub of Baked Alaska, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Cookie Dough and Phish Food.
When I come out with the four tubs in my arms, Sulpicia huffs like a child.

"How come she gets to go in the shops she wants but I can't?" She complains. "Because Lee is quick about it." Marcus replies simply.

"Now come on, let's go home."

Sulpicia hooks her arm through Marcus's and we walk together to the car park. The two of them look like the cutest brother amd sister.

In the car, Sulpicia takes another look at my suit.
"Oh. I actually regret getting this. I liked the red one." She says.

The RED one. The one she DIDN'T like!!!!
I scream from frustration.
