   ''I had a good time... Thank you.'' Edward said at the door of his place when Roy was about to drop him off from their date, ''I'm glad.'' Roy said noticing the blonde look down blushing, ''Edward.'' Roy said making Edward look up getting kissed by the raven haired male making his heart race, but felt at ease when they pulled away from the kiss moments later making the blonde blush and smile. The moment they were both about to say something they both turned to see Izumi at the door with her arms crossed with a smile, ''M-Mom...'', ''Everyone is asleep, so I decided to sick around till you got home~'' Izumi said simply making Edward blush heavily embarrassed, looking down for a moment before looking back up to his teacher, ''Thank you again.... Goodnight.''. The blonde immediately went inside embarrassed and flustered making Izumi look inside, ''All I said was that everyone was asleep... I didn't mean to embarrass him...'' She said making face then looking over to Roy who shrugged with a flushed smile since it was cold, Izumi smiled at the raven haired male, ''By the looks of it Edward had fun... Thank you for bringing him home safely Roy.''. ''I apologize for bringing him home so late Mrs. Curtis... It's just that-'', ''You must think I'm hard on Edward.'' Izumi said suddenly with a now softer expression despite her tired appearance from waiting for Edward, ''That's not what I was thinking Mrs. Curtis.'' Roy said quickly with a smile in his defense, ''Please, You can be honest with me.'' Izumi said with a smile. ''Well maybe sometimes... But that's the duty of a parent, to be hard on your kids-'', ''Want to know why I'm so hard on Alphonse and Edward?'' The braided female started closing the door behind her and gesturing Roy to sit next to her on the porch stair, never realizing Edward was sitting near the door listening to their conversation as the raven haired male silently sat next to Izumi looking over to her. ''Mrs. Curtis...'', ''Roy, I'll be completely honest with you.'' Izumi started, ''The day I went over to ask you for a straight answer about your feelings for my boy, I'll admit I was angry at what you had to say... I was angry that you had hurt my boy... And I couldn't forgive you for that.'' She said closing her eyes as she paused for a long moment, ''I couldn't forgive you for that...''. ''To see my one of my precious boys hurting again, I wanted to hurt you.'' She admitted making Roy tense up a bit with an unsure terrified smile, ''But seeing how happy you made Edward... Made me realize something I said to you before... That I knew you were a good person... So naturally I chose to put that small hatred to the side and forgive you.'' Izumi said with a tender smile. Roy didn't have anything to say since she had every right as a parent to feel like that towards him, ''I understand why you would feel like that towards me... I hurt one of your boys... But that was something I never intended to do but I did... I still can't understand how you all forgave me so easily...'' Roy said with an unsure smile, with Izumi looking over to Edward's teacher with a smile. ''Because you're the only person to make Edward happy... Though you're twice his age, you bring Edward at peace and make him happy. Plus you realized your mistake on your own, so that's a plus... Also you respect my boy a lot, despite you knowing what he wants to do with you.'' Izumi said with a smile before getting serious looking up at the clear night sky. ''I guess in this case, age is just a number...'' She said to herself giving a pained expression and smile suddenly surprising Roy who was about to say something, but was cut off before he had a chance to say something when Izumi spoke up again, ''You want to know something Roy?... I didn't like the ideas of kids much, since I felt like I wasn't good enough to hold that burden on myself but...''. ''When I found those boys on that rainy day walking around by themselves, I decided to take them in despite them having Winry and Pinako, since they didn't have parents...'' She said with Edward making a face at the painful reminder, ''I... I just couldn't leave the boys like that... They saw me and my husband asking us for help in their little raincoats, to get them out of the mud since they were stuck in it...''. ''God....They were so cute... My heart instantly fell in love with them...'' Izumi said with a smile looking up at the sky again, ''I was going through a tough time with my Husband Sig... I mean we were having a really tough time...'' She continued making Roy keep his eyes on Izumi as she spoke suddenly putting a hand on her stomach with a pained expression throwing the teacher off. ''I had a miscarriage... I had just lost a child before I met those boys.'' Izumi said surprising Roy who stood quiet at the heavy topic, ''I was depressed, really depressed... My husband was worried about me, and the thought of losing a child took a toll on me, that the thought of having or raising kids was off my list till they came along.'' Izumi said with a soft tender smile. ''Those boys... Came around at the right time, and I just couldn't forget about them and let them go. Of course, I went to go ask Pinako if could raise the boys as my own till they were old enough, and surprisingly she agreed since they wouldn't let go of me.'' She said chuckling softly, ''I'll never forget that day...'' She said softly closing her dark eyes with a motherly smile, ''They were my little guardian angels...''. ''Even than when the boys were kids I was still hard on them... I guess that's why they're afraid of me now.'' Izumi said with a soft laugh putting a hand to her chin with a tiredly motherly expression, ''Alphonse with May Chang.... Now Edward with you?... Time really flies doesn't it?...'' She said softly, ''Seeing them grow up to the handsome boys that they are now makes me glad Sig and I took them in...''. ''I'm sure....Their mother would be so... So happy at seeing how her boys grown up... But their father?... He's always been so closed minded from what I've been told... So I'm not sure how he would take Edward's relationship with you...'' Izumi said in thought, ''Hard headed and temperamental like Edward... Hell... Edward even looks just like his father when he was younger...''. ''And let me tell you Edward hates that a lot.'' Izumi said, ''But don't take their father wrong... Pinako has said that he had a big heart, he just wasn't good at showing his love for his kids...'' She said, ''So of course you can understand now why he needs constant reassurance from you...''. ''But... Overall Edward is a good kind hearted kid.... He just has trouble showing it at times... He has trouble with his emotions, his emotions get the best of him, just like his father...'' Izumi said deciding to change the topic with a soft smile, ''I just wonder how old my baby would of looked, if I hadn't lost them...'' Izumi said quietly with a pained look in her dark eyes smiling again tiredly. ''But I guess seeing Edward and Alphonse grow up is just enough to fill that loss in my heart.'' She said with a soft smile putting her hand on stomach, then turning to Roy with her kind smile, ''I guess you can take from this little personal talk... That I like you for my son. I just wish I was a better mother for them sometimes-?!'' Izumi said but paused when she felt a sudden tight but kind hug from Roy, ''Roy?...'', ''You are a good mother to them.''. ''You're the closest thing to a mother they ever had. I know as a man I shouldn't say anything about losing a child but... For you to lift yourself up from that depression and pain of loosing your child, and move on raising two boys that didn't have parents, you're a very very strong woman Izumi... Don't let yourself tell yourself any different. And I promise to take care of Edward no matter what.'' Roy said kindly with Izumi against his chest quiet at what he said but smiled reluctantly. ''Thank you Roy... You're too kind.'' Izumi said hugging the raven haired male back pulling away with her kind smile, ''Thank you for keeping that promise to me, it means a lot to me.'' She said putting a hand over her heart before pausing, ''Mrs. Curtis?'', ''It's getting late, I should let you go home.'' Roy said standing up and smiling at Izumi, ''You're a good man Roy. Goodnight.''. The moment Roy had said Goodnight and left, Izumi walked back inside the house locking it behind her to see Edward sitting on the floor next to the door surprising her, ''Edward... You were eavesdropping weren't you?'' She asked seeing Edward make a face feeling bad, ''Edward... Look at me.'' Izumi said seeing Edward look up, ''Want to have a tea with me? Looks like you won't sleep anytime soon.''. ''I....'' Edward started dressed in PJs sitting in the kitchen with Izumi at almost two in the morning looking over to the usually serious female smile as she sipped her cup of tea, ''Tell me about you date. It's late to wake the others up, so you can just tell them later.'' Izumi said simply opening her eyes looking over to the blonde with her dark eyes, ''...Can I ask you something...''. ''Hmm? Of course Edward.'', ''Why did you tell Roy all that...'' The blonde said quietly, ''Because I like him for you. I think he's a good man.'' Izumi said simply with a smile making Edward blush lightly embarrassed, ''We just started dating... How can you guys say this already?...'' Edward said almost in a mumble playing with the tea bag in the cup in front of him getting the others attention, ''Hm?''. ''After we left that fancy restaurant near the park, he took me to eat a crepe which I've never tried till now but....'' The blonde said but paused, ''After that we had bumped into the family of his friend that he had lost a long while back.'' He said surprising Izumi that Roy had, had a loss himself, but even more surprised that Edward had never eaten a crepe letting Edward talk. Gracia and Elicia was their name. Elicia had ran to Roy and hugged him but she was quickly drawn to me...'' The blonde spoke in thought, ''She was this adorable little girl with large green eyes and long blonde hair in these really cute braids... Her mom had said if I was a student and Elicia quickly said no, that I was his boyfriend because we were holding hands...'' Edward said going quiet making a face. ''Roy didn't seem to mind but... What she said... She said she wanted to be a flower girl when Roy and I got married... Why would a child that I just met say that suddenly, but be so serious about it?...'', ''Because kids can see things we adults can't sometimes.'' Izumi said simply smiling, ''Edward you look tired. You should get some rest.'' She said smiling kindly at Edward, ''Come on off to bed with you mister.'', ''But....''. ''No buts mister march off to your room now, you had a long night.'' Izumi said again seeing Edward look down making a face, but did as he was told getting up and heading out the kitchen, ''Hey Edward.'' Izumi called out making Edward stop in his steps and turn back to see his adoptive mother smiling motherly at him, ''Have you thought of asking your teacher to Prom?'' Izumi asked simply seeing Edward blush and run off, ''G-Goodnight!'' Only making her chuckle softly to herself, "I knew it.''.
