A/N:

This  request is for morguitar hope you like it and it was what you were looking for. xxH

I kicked stones across the floor as I strolled along the road. Leaves floated around their own path. I played with the small knife in my hand. A herd of walkers have been following me for the last hour, but I needed to rest. My feet were tired and I didn't know how long I could go on for. My feet soon gave up letting me fall to my hands and knees. The growls and shuffling became louder. I got up from my position just out of the reach of the walkers. I ran into the forest hoping to lose them. They were hot on my tale; their herd seemed to grow as I pasted more roaming ones. I pushed my aching legs faster. I tripped over and nearly falling. I ran and ran and ran, but the gap between us seemed to be getting smaller. I looked behind me to see how close they were. I twisted my ankle and fell. My body rolled down a small hill, before I could think to react I half my body fell of an edge of a cliff. I gripped onto the slimy roots that stuck out of the ground. I looked up seeing a couple of walkers fall over me and down onto the rocky surface below, but that wasn't my only problem other walkers had spotted me and were crawling towards my un-protected flesh. My breathing increased and my eyes widened. "Damn it." I said aloud. I tried feeling for any ledge that could help me push myself up. They were getting closer. Gun shots soon filled the air and the walkers fell to their knees. I spotted a pair of feet. "Grab my hand." A deep voice said. I gave him my hand and he pulled me up. "Thanks for saving my ass." I said

"Sure, you alone?" He asked.

"Yeah, you?" His jaw clenched. He wore a hat upon his head and a white bandage covered one of his eyes. "Something like that." He answered.

"It's okay if your alone you know, its not that bad when you get used to it." I told him feeling around for my knife. "Damn it, I have to go back. I dropped my knife." I said, he pulled at my arm. "Have this it'll will protect you." He said handing my a small knife. It had a red handle and was very well kept like no one had ever used it. "She must have meant something to you." I spoke up thinking about the knife. His jaw clenched again. "Its okay losing someone, it's hard but we can't do much about it, I keep this." I said pulling out my necklace out from around my neck. "My mother gave me this before she died, but I know she's happy and wouldn't want me to think her death as something sad."

"She was just a friend nothing more." He said clenching his jaw yet again.

"You'll be able to make friends again I promise." I said.

"Perhaps." he said taking a step closer to me, I returned one backwards hitting my back against a tree. His hands touched the sides of the tree enclosing me and stopping me from moving. His head moved towards my face and he spoke into my ear.

"I don't need you and you will never replace her." I pushed him away as he laughed aloud. I hit him across the face. "I would never want to replace someone that you loved so dearly, don't take me for a person like that. All I was trying to tell you is that you're not alone in the world, I've lost someone too. Don't think you are the only one. Don't put everything on your shoulders. I know there's something in that heart of yours, otherwise why you would have saved me." I glared into his eyes strongly. I sure as hell shouldn't do what I was about to do next, but it just kicked in.

I hugged him tightly. His body stood still, but soon relaxed. "Because you look just like her and I couldn't save her." He spoke. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay."
