"When I open this gate I want you to promise you will not attack, threaten or kill anybody." Big Madam's chilling voice boomed through the hallway, making the snow haired boy unconsciously stand up straighter.

The darkness in the cell hid his face from view, making it impossible for Big Madam to see the slight twitch in the corners of his mouth.

"Hai." He whispered.

"Promise me."

He turned his bloody red gaze toward the woman in front of him, giving her a weak smile before nodding. "I promise I won't kill Ayato."

"You won't kill, or..." The huge figure encouraged, her grip purposely tightening around the boy's wrist through the bars. Rei gulped, if she continued like this she'd surely snap his wrist like she did last time.

"I promise I won't attack, threaten or kill Ayato." He quickly finished, swallowing every single trace of the dull pain in his voice.

"Good." The woman nodded in approval before stepping away from the boy and unlocking the cell gate.

The heavy metal screeched in protest as it was pulled back, leaving the entrance open for Rei to walk out which he immediately did.

Four long days had passed since Rei had been locked in the cell, having not been let out once in the past few days. His limbs were close to shaking in anticipation as his nails unconsciously dug into his palms, an act he often used to distract himself. He couldn't wait to get out of that hallway.

"Now, Rei is a very dangerous boy." Big Madam turned her attention toward the redhead who begrudgingly crossed his arms above his chest. "You will not provoke him in any way. If you value your life, that is.

"Whatever." Ayato grumbled through gritted teeth as the gate to Emi's cell swung open.

"I expect you two to behave and work well as a team. You will be the closing act of the scrapping ceremony, and if you don't give me a show you will lose good boy points."

Rei's heart skipped a beat at her words. The boy's throat suddenly felt dry as his joints stiffened, fists clenching at his sides as the familiar fire started rising up within him.

"Lose what?" Ayato confusedly asked.

"Good boy points." Big Madam grinned, her golden brackets somehow gleaming in the dim light, perfectly reflecting chunks of sticky saliva.

"You'll find out what they are soon enough. A little piece of advice, try to hold your ground against Rei at least a bit, alright?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" The redhead muttered.

"He sure likes to talk back..." Big Madam hummed, turning to Rei with a smirk on her face.

"What do bad boys get?" She asked.

Rei's eyes widened, an indecipherable gleam shining through them as he opened his mouth. "A surprise."

"Mhm!" The huge figure clapped her hands together. "Exactly!"

"What kind of surprise?" Ayato narrowed his eyes at the two figures.

Big Madam locked her eyes on the redhead, a thick hand coming to rest on his shoulder as she opened her mouth.

"What kind of suprise would it be if I told you?" She chuckled, fingers painfully squeezing the boy's shoulder bone. "Now, you should learn to shut up like a good boy. You already have minus ten points."

Rei couldn't fight the grin that took over his face.

"Let's get going before I change my mind and leave you guys to rot in there." Big Madam finally said as she pushed both boys down the hallway. They kept making twists and turns, going through countless hallways and doors until they reached a huge brown one leading to the outside training grounds. A normal person would've been lost in no time, but Rei had memorized the entire building by heart.
