Here's some back story to all of this -- I lived in this house for about 11 years and I've always hated the basement. I refused to go down there alone. I guess you could say I'm that weird kid who's like a medium who can see, feel, and get attachments from the paranormal.

We had to move out of my house due to the old walls it was built back in
the early or late 1800's when the town was first built. We called it
'the yellow house' (because it was yellow), but you could see old
photos of it in the town hall (which was right across the street from
this house). This house was no where near normal.

This is why I'm particularly glad it's been torn down.

It was a warm mid-summer day and my old friends suggested we should go
into the yellow house. They got in through the porch and unlocked a
window. When we stepped in, the carpet had been stripped and we could
see the old wooden floors. The smell was an old, dusty, even musty
smell; I never realized how creepy and small this house had been until
that day.

We walked around in the kitchen, living room, around the corridors and looked in closets and passed old
bedrooms. I was feeling at ease like a movie goer at the edge of their
seat as you watch that dumb blonde walk in the dark hallways. My
friend Kallie called me into my brother's old room where he tried to
commit the death act, there you could see old blood stains and the
room was full of bad energy.

I walked down a long corridor to my and my twin sister's old bedroom
and it was bright and warm in there. I felt okay then I walked out and
saw all my friends enter my parents' old room. I walked across the
dinning room and I stood in front of the door, and my body refused to go in
but I pushed on. The second I stepped foot across the doorframe I was
hit with a gust of wind or energy as if I was being pushed out. I was
lost for breath and couldn't speak.

This is when I made the wrongful
decision to agree to go downstairs. It was dark as hell and I had to turn
on the flashlight of my phone. The set-up was the stairs, a little
corridor, a closet next to the stairs, the big basement, and then
the room we called Spider-Man's den because it was full of spiders. There was another closet, like the door you see in a horror movie.

I took a couple photos that I wish I could show you. I didn't want to be down there because I was getting a creepy vibe, my heart was racing and my vision was blurry. I raced up the creaky old wooden stairs.

Kallie and Devin, two out of five friends, stayed downstairs
while my sister and Rebecca and I went back and looked around at my brother's old room to examine the old stains.

I stood in the corridor watching as they spoke. Everything sounded so far away. I was hearing voices as if I was no longer in a house of five people; it
felt like I was standing in the streets of Rome in the summer, full of
hundreds of tourists.

But this was nowhere near happy people speaking. These voices were saying things like, "You shouldn't be here", "you can't leave us again", "you're going to die", "run before she
finds you", "why'd you leave me?" I was in full panic mode because I
thought I was the only one hearing it, then Kallie looked me in my
ready to burst levee of tears eyes and it felt as if everyone had stopped
breathing, hoping the beating of their hearts would stop so they could
hear what I did.

Kallie was the first to speak. She asked me, "Do you hear that?" Then
it was getting louder and louder by the second, as if it was walking up
the stairs heading towards us. It was to the point where it was like a
fire alarm in our ears, such loud screaming. It was like we all had
talked without a word spoken and we all bolted towards the window and
door. My heart was in my throat and tears were pouring down, burning my
cheeks. My heartbeat filled my ears as I ran across the street wanting not be on the same ground as that house.

I caught my breath as my friends asked me what was wrong. I told
them this story, but then Kallie reached into her pocket and pulled a
really old photo of my parents and handed it to me saying, "We found
this among many others, but this was the only one we could get." It was
downstairs in the room behind a huge concrete door.

I stared at it and then remembered the picture I had found of mine and my sister's birthday that had our faces scribbled and poked out. I found it laying above the basement when we were moving out. That sent a shiver down my spine. There was something
sinister in that house and I hope it's at peace now.
