"Dad, really. I'm okay." I said for the fifth time.

"I—I should've been here. And I said I would be at the games." He looked at me.

"Well, I mean this was just a pre-season scrimmage. I didn't even tell you about it." I said.

"But I promised your mom I'd be around so she could pick up some double shifts at the hospital. I should've been here." He told me.

"You're here now." I smiled.

Parrish passed by us, taking Violet with him. Sheriff Stilinski was after them when my dad stopped him.

"Sheriff, what is that? Is that the weapon?"

"Yeah. It's a thermos-cut wire." He said and my dad's face got blank.

My dad quickly went after Parrish, asking him to hold up and before I could follow him to see what's going on, Liam stopped in front of me.

"Where's Kira?" I asked.

"She took off. Stiles told her about Lydia cracking the second part of the dead pool." Liam told me.

"Her mom's on it." I sighed.

"Everyone's on it." Liam snapped.

"You're not." I said.

"Not yet. There's still another third, right?"

I focused my hearing on my dad in the next room.

"Thermo-cut wire's a very unusual weapon, Violet. Now, we've got a file at the Bureau on something similar. Used in over a dozen murders."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Violet lied. "I just go to school here."

"Maybe we should call your parents then." My dad said. "Oh, no. That's right. You don't have any parents. That's why they call you The Orphans."

Parrish dragged Violet out to the car with another deputy and my dad turned to Sheriff.

"We need to find her boyfriend, Garrett."

Sheriff nodded, turning around. "Coach, I'm gonna need both their locker numbers. And someone find me a set of bolt cutters."

I broke Garrett's locker while Liam watched the door. I opened the locker and I saw a red bag.

"I think someone's coming. Hurry." I heard Liam say.

I opened up the bag and I widened my eyes when I saw money. A lot of money.

"You find anything?" Liam asked me.

I looked at him before moving my head to the side. "No," I lied. "Nothing."

"Your dad should be back within' the hour." Parrish said. "You want to wait in his office?"

"Actually, we want to talk to you." I shrugged.

"Privately."

Parrish nods and we walk towards my dad's office, where Lydia hands the list to him so he can read it.
