I caressed the dog softly, position the needle.

"Remember, for intramuscular injections in the hind leg..." Deaton looked at me.

"Stay clear of the sciatic nerve." I said, pushing the needle in slowly.

"Excellent. Aspirate back to make sure you haven't hit a vein." Deaton said and I did. "Then just keep the needle still."

I finished it and then slowly took the needle off, the dog yelps, biting my arm softly. "Ow." I groaned, caressing him to calm him down as he growled softly.

Deaton and I chuckled. "He's a little one, but his teeth are still sharp."

"Sorry, buddy." I said, picking him up. "Come on. Good boy!"

I turned around, walking towards the waiting room and putting him on the ground carefully, handing the leash to the blonde little girl in front of me.

"Here you go, Stephanie."

"Thank you, Dr. McCall." She said.

I smiled. "I'm not a doctor yet."

I watched while she left and when she did, I turned around, walking back towards Deaton who was checking one of the claws from the guy that tried to kill me

I watched while she left and when she did, I turned around, walking back towards Deaton who was checking one of the claws from the guy that tried to kill me.

"Find anything?"

"Maybe. Are you sure this guy was a werewolf?" He asked. "As far as I can tell, these claws are actually talons. In fact, they're the talons of a harpy eagle, one of the largest known birds of prey."

"How does a werewolf get talons?" I asked in confusion.

"Personally, I'm more interested in how these talons somehow were able to absorb your power. The only one who should be able to do that is a Beta of your own making." Deaton said.

"Someone like Liam?" I asked.

"Exactly."

"What if I let someone into my pack?" I asked. "Like another Beta?"

"I would normally say no... but I'm starting to wonder if the rules to our supernatural world aren't as right as I once thought." Deaton said, looking at the talons. "Or maybe someone's trying to change those rules."

Stiles and I entered Dad's office, following him.

"I know his family left town around the time Theo was nine or ten, his older sister died in an accident when he was eight."

"Please go to school." Dad cut Stiles.
