Chapter 36: Gone Again

Musso's POV

We ran back into battle with a new sense of hope.

I easily took down many fighters in just a few hits.

This was almost too easy.

I looked over for Midnight I the battle.

I saw her in the far corner of The Valley.

Midnight got The Spirits cornered and she was just playing with them.

They looked like they took a beating yet Midnight looked untouched. She did not have a single scratch on her.

"Just end it!" I yelled at Midnight.

She looked over to the direction of my voice.

Her hair flowing in the wind.

I forgot how beautiful she was.

She was the most beautiful thing I ever saw.

Then her eyes found me.

Our eyes locked for just a moment but it seemed like eternity.

Her blazing electric blue gaze so wild yet so calming.

I could get lost in the oceans of her eyes.

That was when 2 of The Spirits lunged on top of her.

"Midnight!" I yelled out.

She was pinned with more flying her direction.

I went to fly toward her but I was pulled down by another fighter into the ground.

I got up and quickly punched him in the face and flew back up.

Floating above the battle I could see everything.

But I was only looking for Midnight.

But she disappeared.

And so did The Spirits.

Where the hell did they go?

I sensed a large power but I couldn't pinpoint it.

There was just too much commotion.

So many powerful fighters just below me.

I began to panic.

Where is she?

She has to be here.

I don't want to lose her.

I want to regain her trust.

I never knew I could miss someone that much.

I heard a large blast to my left.

Not even a millisecond later I was flown back and I had to catch myself on a rock on the other side of the valley.

I saw rocks and debris flying towards us.

Not just that though it was intermingled with lightening and energy.

Everyone fighting began to scatter.

They ran for their lives.

Midnight grew black wings and I could feel her power level rise.

Then all 12 Spirits launched a combined energy beam at Midnight.

She responded with the biggest beam of black magic I have seen.

I braced myself for the impact.

Then they hit.

I could feel the whole ground below me just crackle then disintegrate.

When it was done I opened my eyes to see absolutely nothing.

Midnight destroyed the whole universe.

"Well I didn't mean for that to happen." Midnight chuckled.

She looked at Kade and I.

"I'll fix it." Midnight spoke at us.

She closed her eyes and then everything spun back to place and we were watching time go backwards.

"Shit I'm going too far!" She gritted her teeth having trouble controlling time.

She stopped right at the time The Spirits attacked us.

All 3 of our bodies then flew into the bodies of where we were standing at that time.

I looked over and saw Midnight on the ground with The Spirits walking towards her.

History was repeating itself.

But I wouldn't let it.

I lunged at The Spirits but they blasted an energy beam at Midnight before I could get there.

"No!" I screamed.

When it stopped she wasn't there.

The Spirits then just flew away.

"Is she gone for good now?" Kade ran over to me.

"I-I don't know." I staggered.

She couldn't be gone for good this time.

I hope.
