"Let's go." I ordered. Lemuel led the way as we followed. Tumigil kaming lahat sa harap ng malaking bakal na pinto.
Lemuel opened the door and a loud creaking sound echoed through the empty hall.
"Maiwan ko na kayo dito, Dtectives. Maraming staff ang nakapaligid sa inyo. Tumawag nalang kayo ng isa sa kanila kung kinakailangan." He said.
"Thank you." He nodded and left.
Pagpasok na pagpasok namin sa loob ng silid, Napaubo kaming tatlo.
"Ano yung amoy na yon?" Aiden coughed.
"Smells like dead rats." Chain cringed.
Kids in white hospital gowns were running around, playing and some are even studying and drawing. They looked normal. Poor kids locked up in this worn out metal chamber.
"Anong nangyari sa kanila?" Tabong ni Aiden.
"Drugs, Abuse, Rape, In other words, Shitty parents." I hated the thought of even knowing one of these children and knowing what most of them went through.
Umiling si Chain.
"Bakit nga ba tayo nandito?" Chain asked.
"Baka sakaling dito tinatago ni Amy ang diary niya." Napansin ko ang drawer na nakapuwesto sa dulo ng silid. Napansin din ni Chain na nakatingin ako dito.
"Isn't that kind of obvious? You know... Why the hell would you hide a diary in plain sight?"
"Maybe that's what she wanted us to think." Chain shrugged.
"Pwede bilisan na natin? Iba rin ang vibe ng lugar na 'to." Sabi ni Aiden.
Tinignan ko ang drawer at dahan dahang lumapit dito. Bubuksan ko na sana ito nang biglang mayroong kumalabog sa magkabilang panig ng silid.
"Tangina, Ano yun?" I looked at Aiden who has his hands on his ears and Chain who's cringing.
We looked at both sides of the room and saw at least fifteen kids looking intently at us.
Lumapit ang tatlo sa kanila sa drawer at hinarangan ito.
"Kids, Excuse us-"
"NO!" She screeched.
"Ah fuck..." I whispered. Their high pitched screams echoed in my ear.
"Sabi ni Amy, Protektahan namin 'to kahit anong mangyari." Maliit ang boses nito. Malambot din at napakainosente. Boses na parang hindi nababagay dito.
"Pero kaibigan kami ni Amy-"
"Hindi pwede!" Sigaw ng isa.
"Para lang si mama." Humagikgik ang isa. I looked away trying to control my emotions. Poor kids.
"Hindi makakabalik si Amy kapag hindi namin nakuha ang-" I tried to explain but I was cut off once again.
"Sabi ni Amy babalik siya, Sinungaling kayo! Nakita ko siya kagabi!"
At that point all of the kids looked at us. I took a step back and looked behind me. The metal doors are locked. I don't know if staff could hear us. I have a key but I doubt I'd be fast enough to open it before these kids possibly eat us alive.
"We should get out of here." Chain said. I looked at every corner of the room, Analyzing it. Anything that the kids can use as a weapon, A way to escape. I saw a crowbar under a lamp post. Got it.
"Im sorry!" I screamed at shoved one of the kids away from the drawer. I opened it and flinched when I saw a dead rat on top of a black and blue notebook.
Mabilis ko itong kinuha, Hindi ko na pinansin ang nabubulok na daga. Inangat ko ang notebook bago pa ako mabato ng crowbar.
"Crowbar!" I warned Chain and Aiden. They both ducked and the crowbar hit the metal door.
The impact sent alarms ringing. The kids got distracted and started screaming.
Para akong mababaliw sa pinaghalo halong ingay ng sigawan, iyakan at ang alarm.
Chain grabbed my arm and ran toward the door while the staff opened it.
Iniangat ni Lemual ang braso ko. Tinignan ko si Aiden at Chain na inoobserbahan din ng staff.
"Hindi ba kayo nasaktan?" He asked.
"We're fine..."
"Detectives! Anong nangyari dito?" Dr. Jay asked with three nurses trailing behind him.
"Nagkagulo sa mga bata. I think one of them is hurt." After I shoved him.
"May nakita ba kayo?" Tanong ni Rose na mukhang kakatapos lang makipagsapalaran sa isa sa mga pasyente.
"I found her diary. As of now, Its the only evidence we can get hold of." Jay looked proud.
"Mabuti naman. Nagugutom ba kayo? Lunch is on me." He said. I was about to decline but Aiden answered in behalf of us.
"Bakit hindi?"
The moment he said that an uneasy feeling went through my stomach. I winched and looked at Chain.
"Rose, Bakit hindi ka na sumama sa amin? Mukhang napagod ka sa trabaho." Doctor Jay looked at Rose.
"Sige... Bakit hindi.." She displayed a lop sided smile.
We went to a restaurant near by. Not too fancy, Not to cheap either. Just a casual diner.
"Gaano na kayo katagal sa trabahong 'to?" Tanong ni Jay habang naghihintay kami nang pagkain.
"Mga limanv taon? Started at 22." I answered. I sipped my water.
We began to eat when the waiter served our food.
"Thank you..." I mumbled and smiled. In the middle of eating Jay stood up.
"Excuse me, Nagpapasaway lang ang tiyan ko.", Biro nito. I just nodded.

Hindi ko alam kung nahihirapan lang bang magingles si Amy o mayroon siyang ibang gustong sabihin.
Nanlaki nanan ang mga mata ko nang pumasok sa isip ko ang nais nitong sabihin.
I put the book down as soon as Doctor Jay sat down.
"So? Kamusta ang pagkain?"
