Alex gawks at the necklace for a second. By his expression, Leti was hoping she was getting through to him. She had this feeling that Alex is Jason's little brother.
"Yeah...not quite. Never seen it."
She scoffs and looks at the necklace for a second. "How could you never have seen this? This is yours."
"It is?"
"Yes. Stop acting stupid."
He shrugged. "I'm not? Look, it's a cool and vintage necklace but it's not mine."
She stared at him, confused. He was so different from Jason. He was too sweet even if he didn't mean to offend anyone.
"Maybe you're the wrong Alex."
"The wrong one you're looking for, yeah maybe." He steps away and Leti sighed deeply to herself.
She wanted to make Jason happy by finding Alex, but now she has a bad feeling that maybe Alex doesn't remember Jason. She tip toed her way over to Morte's office. He was reading a file while a man in a black suit was standing over his shoulder. He paces back and forth.
"Jason McCann is his name. That's all I know about this kid and he's a common criminal. Too good of a criminal." Morte says to the unknown guy.
"Yes, but he's in hiding." the masked figure says.
"If he's hiding, he has to be in Miami. Isn't that obvious?"
"Every time the police catches McCann, he always finds a way to escape. The kid has connections."
"He sounds like someone I'd like to work for me."
"Ha. That kid is his own boss. What makes you think he'd work for you?"
"He'll do anything to save his friend, Danny."
"Who said Jason knew Danny was here? I should take you to jail for holding someone hostage but I haven't, Morte. So, catch this Jason kid for me and I'll give you all the money you want."
Morte took a deep sigh. Silence filled the air for a second. He heard a slow beeping sound. He looked around for a second.
"A bomb." he whispered.
Leti steps away from the office slowly and ran upstairs to Alex's room.
She got a text; "Get the hell out of there now. Were ready." She grabs Alex. "If you say one word, I'll hurt you."
He stared at her for a second and laughed a little. "You're like a little puppy. Where you taking me?"
"Somewhere safe. Now, what's the quickest way to get out of here?"
"This window. There's a ladder right here. I sneak out from time to time."
"Perfect."
They climb through the window and go down the ladder.
She jumped down. "Where's the nearest store or something?"
"Down there." He points to the other side of the house next to them.
"Come on."
-
"Where the hell is Leti?" Jason asks as he enters the van with Danny.
"What makes you think you've gotten away with this, J?" Danny asks him.
"Leti's gone." Ryan says as he enters.
He looks back at Danny and looks again, "D, man. You're alive." He smiled and Danny smiled back at him.
"Hey Ryan. —- Now, J."
"What?! Yes, I am perfectly clear that this whole war may not be over but you're alive and you're here. So, I finished my fucking job!"
"Will you two shut up! Leti is not in the house!" Mack yells at them.
"She's not?" Danny asks, sounding concerned.
Ryan shakes his head. "Drive around to that store over there. She might be there."
Mack drives off and she presses the button to trigger the bombs. The place goes up in flames as she drives fast.
"Oh shit!" Danny yells. "You planted bombs?"
"I am really trying to figure out why he thinks we've changed our game." Jason says in a sarcastic tone, talking to the crew.
"Because not everything has to go your way, J. Damn."
"Well, lately, it has and if you think you can change it, then go right ahead."
Mack pulls up in the store's drive way. "Leti!" She yells, holding her hand out the window.
"Who's that kid with her?" Mike asks.
Jason sighs, looking out the window and he leans back on the seat. He looks back again to get a clear look. "Alex?"
