After walking for what seemed like hours, I finally found the restaurant.

Although the yellow lights from the building in front of me gave off a warm glow, I felt uncomfortable, like there was something off. I tightened my grip on the winter jacket I'm wearing. (Remember, it's about 40 degrees outside)

'Well, there probably was, knowing me and what I get dragged into.'  I take a deep breath attempting to calm my nerves.

I make my way up the stairs and push open the front door, wondering why they don't have anyone here to greet me.

'Wait... is everyone?'   looked around, observing that the foyer was completely empty save for myself and a small, pudgy man standing in the far corner by a pair of double doors.

Once he spots me, he waddles over to me, offering to take my coat. I hand it to him before he gestures for me to follow. I follow him down a few flights of stairs, all covered in red carpeting, and down a couple of elegantly dressed corridors. The warm glow from earlier, I noticed, was emitted by the golden chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and a couple smaller versions of them on the wall.

'This place actually looked more like an old fashions theater than a restaurant. I'm impressed.'

Finally, he leads me down a hall and stops at the door on the end. He opens it, gesturing for me to enter before slamming it shut behind me, probably making his way back down the hallway.

"Rude." I mutter, looking around the dimly lit room before spotting a dark figure.

"(y/n)! Thank goodness you made it." it says.

"Hey Kaneki, you look nice." I compliment, looking at his tuxedo.

He doesn't really seem like that type of guy. "Oh, this? It's not mine." I tilt my head in confusion.

"Well, when I got here, they told me to take a shower, then they took the clothes I came in and gave me these." He finishes.

"Why did they make you shower?" I ask, skeptical.

"I've no idea." He admits, scratching the side of his cheek.

"They didn't make you?" He asks, taking a sip of a dark liquid from the tea cup in front of him. I shake my head, making him frown.

"I wonder why." His voice lowers.

     "I don't know." I shrug my shoulders.

"I mean, I did shower before I got the invitation, but I don't know how they'd know that." I mumble.

'I swear, if someone was watching me shower...'

"There is certainly something going on here."

Before we're able to contemplate anymore, the whole room begins to shake.

"What is this, an earthquake?!" Kaneki shouts.

"I highly doubt that!" I shout back as the floor beneath us begins to rise, taking us with it.

The ceiling opened above us to reveal blinding white lights. The sound of cheers, shouts, and claps come from all directions. I lift my hand to shield my eyes, waiting for them to adjust, but once they do, I wish they had't.

"No way." I mumble as my legs begin to shake.

I was in an arena. Almost like a large pit, with all of the audience above us, sitting far enough away to still be safe, but close enough to see every bit. I shudder as memories begin to flood back to the last time I was in a place like this.
