You snuffled as footsteps got closer and someone sat next to you. "I'm surprised you called me" Brett muttered, raising his eyebrows when you jumped.
"I meant to call Lori." You mumbled and he frowned when he saw how upset you were.
"They dumped me." You snuffled out quietly and you suddenly found yourself engulfed in a tight hug.
"They're an asshole." He whispered as he kissed the side of your head, your whole body heating up at the small gesture.
