*DREAM* Barry as standing there next to Caitlin. They were in Central City Park, suited up. All around them, rubble. Buildings reduced to piles of rubble. This was their reign. This was their rule. This was their city. But they were opposed. All of this earth's heroes (and a few from another) were lined up in front of them. One or two were on the floor, dead. This wasn't the start of this battle. This was the middle. There was no sign of stopping.

The Dark Flash stood there watching. They were winning. but the others had one final trick up their sleeves. Green Arrow notched an arrow. Green Arrow aimed at Killer Frost. Killer Frost created an ice shield. Green Arrow fired. Firestorm shot a fire ball. Firestorm shot in a random direction? The arrow passed through the fire ball. He ran. He ran as fast as he could towards the arrow. He was too slow. The arrow passed through the shield. The arrow struck it's target. The arrow struck Killer Frost's heart. She fell backwards. He caught her as she fell.

THE DARK FLASH: "NO, no, no..."

KILLER FROST: "Barry... I- love you"

THE DARK FLASH: "I love you too Cait. Please... please stay with me."

He heard an arrow get notched behind him and waited a second before catching it and throwing it back. He turned back to Caitlin who was dying in his arms. He started to cry.

KILLER FROST: "Barry... end this. For me... please."

THE DARK FLASH: "No, Cait, your going to be fine. We can do this together. You'll be fine. I promise."

KILLER FROST: "Barry... I won't. You can't... you can't change this. You can't change time. Promise."

THE DARK FLASH: "I promise..."

Killer Frost's breathing stopped. Her pulse. Zero. She died. The Dark Flash was crying his eyes out now.

THE DARK FLASH (whispering): "I'll finish this Cait. For you." *DREAM ENDS*

Barry woke with a start. He looked at his side and breathed a sigh of relief. Caitlin was there, alive. She was already awake, no doubt from him. He was still lightly crying from the nightmare.

FROST: "What happened?"

BARRY: "N-n-nightmare."

FROST: "Do you want to tell me about it?"

BARRY: "Y-y-you died. In my arms. And there was nothing I could do about it."

Frost was shocked to say the least. She didn't think something that would make him cry this much would be her death, but if the she was in his position she would be crying even more than he currently is. She just held him closer and positioned his ear above her heart.

FROST: "Listen. I'm still here. I'm still alive. Don't worry about me. just make sure your here for me to come home to."

BARRY: "I'll always be here for you if your here for me."

FROST: "Always."

Barry calmed down at the sound of Caitlin's heart beat.

BARRY: "So, milady, would you like to go on a date?"

FROST: "With you?"

BARRY: "Yes."

FROST: "Always. Where would we go? I doubt most restaurants allow super villains in through the front door."

BARRY: "Central City Bank."

FROST: "Nice, let me put some clothes on first. And as much as I dislike it you should too."

Frost smirked and walked away. Barry was lost in thought, wondering how any like could be better than this.

*That's the shortest chapter I've ever written (~500 words) and yet it still feels larger than some of my other chapters. This isn't meant as a one-shot, it is part of the story.*
