Chapter thirty five

"I-I just need to catch up on some work, really Ryder I am fine I can lock up later" I say before sighing.

I had four days, four days to get the money and I had to look everywhere to see where my options are.

"Ok, just call me if you need anything" He says before I nod my head, he kisses my head before I smile at him.

He nods at me before leaving my office, I take a shaky breath before closing my office door.

Once I see Ryder's car leave, I make my way slowly out of the office and into Ryder's.

I sigh a breath of guilt, but I push it away and continue searching, I deserve to go to hell if I do this.

I stopped and my breath caught when I saw a safe, oh my god, this it.

I couldn't help but have a panic attack about the consequences if I take the money or if my brother gets killed.

I quickly closed the two shelves that were protecting the safe before nearly running out of his office.

I locked it before stepping out of the building and locking that, I clutched my bag closer to me before stepping into a taxi.

I walked up the stairs slowly before getting my keys to unlock the door.

My mind kept racing so much that I dropped them, I dropped them twice already and I was struggling to open the stupid door.

My whole body was shacking and guilt and anxiety was slowly rising in me.

Once I finally got in, mia was making out with Dan on the couch and I rolled my eyes, I turned away to lock the door before clearing my throat.

She pushes him away sadly before looking at me, she smiles at me lightly before speaking.

"Oh Addison your home, how was work?" she asks before Dan sits up glaring at me.

"Fine, sorry to ruin your precious moment." I say glaring back at Dan.

Dan and I used to be best friends with my brother and when he found out all of my family's secrets he turned his backs on us, he tried to gain our trust again and also tried to get me but I refused and so did Jacob with his trust offer, so since then I have hated him and he has hated me, luckily Mia doesn't know about any of this and I am still not sure if I should tell her or not.

"No, your fine, Dan you should actually go, I'll call you later" She says before he nods his head slowly and kisses her lips slightly.

"Ok babe" He smirks at her slightly before throwing his shirt back on.

"Addison" He nods his head clenching his jaw at me.

Mia doesn't notice as she is too busy getting out food for dinner.

"Dan" I say before shutting the door while he is walking out.

I will never forgive him for what he did, but we have both moved on for Mia.

"Why don't you go take a bath and relax, you are always so stressed Addison" she says before I sigh and hug her.

"Thanks for being a great friend, I couldn't ask for anyone better" I say before she speaks.

"Me either, love you Addy" She says pushing me into the bathroom.

"Now just relax for once in your life" She says before I close the door after she leaves into the kitchen again.

I get into the shower since I find it more relaxing and wash my hair and body, my mind keeps racing about my father's letter and I can't help letting small tears slide.
