Everyone was shocked. They never expected things to escalate so quickly, and end so horribly.

Virgil was the first to break out of his shocked stupor and immediately scrambled to his feet. He ran toward the closet and yanked it open revealing a very gloomy prince. He sat on the ground, his legs hugged to his chest and his forehead resting against his knees. His shoulders trembled and he sniffled every now and then.

Virgil kneeled down to his height and cautiously rested a hand on one of his shaking shoulders. Roman flinched under the touch and lifted his head to meet with Virgil's worried gaze. "Hey princey, you okay?" Virgil whispered and scooted closer to him. Roman shrugged at the question and weakly wiped away his tears. "That bad huh?" Virgil muttered and rubbed his arm up and down trying to calm the upset trait.

"Why are you helping me?" Roman asked in a low murmur. "I'm not worth the trouble or time..." He dropped his gaze. "Yes you are. Roman you gotta talk to me. I want to help you, but I can't do that if you don't cooperate." Virgil stated. Roman sighed. "What if I don't deserve your help? You'd be wasting your time." He muttered.

Virgil felt his heart break. Roman was deeply damaged, and he had been for a long time. Virgil embraced the trembling prince and buried his face in his shoulder. "Stop..." His voice wavered. "Please, Roman. You're worth every second of my time, you're so special to me and I can't bear to lose you." He pulled back from the embrace now sitting on his knees, and then held both of his hands and gave him a small smile. "For a minute there I thought you were going to choose me to go in the closet with." He huffed. "Now I wish you did."

Roman shook his head. "I could never hate you Virgil." He admitted. "You're also very special to me. I can never hurt you like that." He wrapped his arms around him. "But Roman, what if you hating yourself causes the most pain to me?" Virgil asked still feeling a dull pain in his chest as he held Roman close. The prince flinched at the thought, he always hated thinking about Virgil being in pain. It killed him inside each time he thought of it.

He squeezed Virgil tight burying his face in the crook of his neck. "I'm sorry." He apologized in a guilt stricken tone. "Don't be. It's not your fault. I just really want to help you Roman. You are my world. My entire reason as to why I get up in the morning." Virgil nuzzled closer against Roman's chest and let out a long shaky sigh. "I'm nothing without you."

The couple stayed silent, just holding each other. Nothing else mattered.

Eventually Roman calmed down enough to stand from his spot on the ground pulling Virgil up with him. He pulled the darker trait close and passionately kissed him. Virgil immediately wrapped his arms around his neck wanting the kiss to last.

When they pulled away to catch their breath they looked at each other. Love and longing settled in their gazes. "You're loved Roman. You know that right?" Virgil moved the hair that fell in front of his eyes so that he could get a better look at the prince's face. Roman smiled. "I do now..."

And they once again shared a kiss.
