Q: have you ever had a paranormal experience?

Pairing: Prinxiety

Roman bit his lip as he scooted closer to his shivering boyfriend, taking his small, freezing cold hands into his own bigger ones earning a small, shuddered sigh of content. “Hey kitten.” He greeted quietly, his throat thick with remorse, he hated the slight tremble in his voice. “H-hey Ro...” Virgil stuttered, his teeth chattered and he tried desperately to stop himself. “I'm so sorry darling, I wish there was something I could do.” The prince apologized guiltily.

Virgil snuggled up against him, gathering up any warmth he could get. “It's not your fault, you saved those people from the dragon witch.” He explained with a small smile. “I just wish I hadn't dragged you into this mess. I can't believe I got us lost in the woods.” Roman muttered and balled his hand into a tight fist. Virgil reached over and gently took hold of his balled up fist, he hummed and caressed his knuckles. “You're ice cold love.” Roman claimed.

Virgil shrugged and shut his eyes. “It's not bad, I'm good as long as I'm with you.” He replied happily. “Still, you'll get sick..” Roman bit his lip and looked around, the sun had set not too long ago, and Virgil had grown tired of walking, he could possibly start a fire, there was enough resources. But right now, he had to take care of Virgil first, he did not like the color of his lips at the moment. He shifted him onto his lap and untied his hoodie around his shoulders, he then helped him put it on. “Better?” He asked.

Virgil nodded and leaned against him. “Way better.” He mumbled tiredly and shut his eyes. “Hey now, don't go to sleep yet. We gotta start a fire, that way you won't catch a cold.” The prince slightly shook his shoulder. Virgil jolted awake and nodded weakly, he slowly got to his feet and swayed slightly to the side. Roman was quick to act and hurriedly got up to steady him. “Easy there, don't want you falling over.” He chuckled.

Virgil smiled softly and dragged his feet as he followed Roman into the woods. Virgil held onto his arm while Roman struggled to keep him upright. “I'm sorry Roman, I'm too sleepy.” Virgil mumbled groggily. “You will be able to sleep once we gather enough wood, we need to get you warm.” Roman urged, the dark trait nodded and squeezed his arm slightly. “I'm sorry, I know you're tired, but it'll be dangerous if we don't have a fire.” Roman apologized. Virgil nodded once more and tried to keep himself as awake and alert as he could. Soon, after a long walk they gathered enough wood for a small fire.

By then Virgil was not able to stand on his own anymore, Roman carried him back to their spot from before and started the fire. Virgil slept against him, his head rested on his shoulder. Roman sighed and held him close, there were many beasts in the woods, and right now he did not have enough strength to fight anything off. Especially since Virgil was with him, exhausted and partially unresponsive. Roman had to be overprotective and cautious.

Hours passed, Virgil was still out cold, the fire burned on, and Roman was beginning to doze off. He wrapped a protective arm around Virgil's shoulders and pulled him closer against him. “I'll protect you love, I swear on my life.” He pressed a kiss to his boyfriend's forehead and drifted off.

The next morning Roman woke to the sound of his name being called out. His eyes snapped open and he felt around for Virgil who was still by his side, sleeping soundly. The fire had died out, the sun already high and shining, the birds sung beautifully and the sound of panicked shouts could be heard.  Roman gasped and quickly gathered Virgil into his arms, the tired trait stirred and quickly clung to Roman who started a light jog toward the voices.

“What's going on? Where are we going?” He asked fearfully, his nails digging into the prince's shoulders. “It's the others, they're here.” Roman explained between breathless pants. Virgil beamed and pressed his face against Roman's shoulder. “Virgil! Roman!?” Patton's shout was not that far, Roman's heart stuttered and jumped. The more he ran, the more he could make out figures from afar.
0 grip on Virgil and ran at full speed. Virgil cursed up a storm and squeezed Roman tight.

Roman laughed aloud as soon as he caught up and nearly ran into the moral trait. Patton squealed and immediately wrapped his arms around the pair, the prince smiled widely and Virgil clung to him. The trio stayed like that until Logan arrived, he sighed in relief and joined in on the hug. “Don't you ever scare us like that ever again.” He muttered. Roman promised and Virgil sniffled, trying to hide his tears from them.

“Hey Roman?” Virgil mumbled. “Yes love?” Roman hummed.

“I love you, but next time. Bring your phone or something.” And then they all laughed, relieved and happy that they were together again.
